Rafael Louzán en apenas cien días y una semana ha recuperado gran parte de lo perdido por Luis Rubiales y su forzada salida de las instituciones tanto en la UEFA como en la FIFA y en todos los estamentos deportivos y políticos en España. El paso definitivo y en el que el fútbol español puede recuperar el sitio tendrá lugar en el Congreso de la UEFA, a celebrar en la mañana del jueves en Belgrado. Eso sí, sin olvidar la presencia de Miguel Ángel Gil en el ejecutivo de la UEFA, representando a la ECA (Asociación Europea de Clubes).
El presidente de la Federación lucha por tener una de las plazas en juego como miembro del Ejecutivo de la UEFA. Louzán es uno de los cinco candidatos a dos puestos de miembro del Comité Ejecutivo de la UEFA para el próximo mandato de dos años. Vadims Ļašenko (Letonia), Andrii Shevchenko (Ucrania), Bjorn Vassallo (Malta) y Moshe Zuares (Israel) son, junto al presidente de la RFEF, los aspirantes al puesto al que votarán todas las federaciones que dan forma a la UEFA.
Bien colocado
Shevchenko y Louzán son los favoritos para ser los dos más votados en las elecciones, el primero por lo que fue como futbolista y por el papel que Ucrania ha tenido en los últimos años, tanto a nivel deportivo como social. El aval del presidente de la RFEF se centra en lo que es y representa la España campeona de Europa, con clubes que están a primer nivel, más que por lo hecho por la Federación y los problemas que la rodean, pese a los cambios que se están llevando a cabo.
¿Qué significa estar presente en el Comité Ejecutivo? Lo principal y primordial, estar en los órganos de decisión del fútbol europeo, tener presencia y que España vuelva a ser alguien dos años después. En lo personal, reputación para Louzán y una rememoración de 250.000 euros.
El presidente de la Federación ha trabajado intensamente en las últimas semanas cara a la elección de Belgrado. Estuvo en la sede de la UEFA, en donde se reunió con Ceferin, además de aprovechar el partido en Rotterdam ante Países Bajos para reunirse con diferentes presidentes de Federaciones.
El caso de Rusia
Al margen del triunfo o no de Louzán, en la antesala del congreso de la UEFA volvió a salir el tema del regreso de Rusia a las competiciones europeas, algo que no se producirá hasta que no finalice la guerra. Los dirigentes del máximo organismo del fútbol continental lo tienen claro. No abrirán la puerta hasta que no cese el fuego.
