Das Fußball-Exil Saudi-Arabien ist wohl doch nicht die letzte Station für N’Golo Kanté (34). Laut türkischen Medien steht der Frankreich-Weltmeister vor einer Rückkehr nach Europa. Besiktas Istanbul soll am 64-fachen Nationalspieler interessiert sein – auch ein Gespräch mit Trainer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (52) habe bereits stattgefunden.
Der Ex-ManUtd-Trainer will den Weltmeister von 2018 wohl unbedingt verpflichten. Auch Kante soll Interesse zeigen, für seine Rückkehr nach Europa würde der Franzose sogar auf einen Teil seines Gehalts verzichten.
[–>Im Dezember wurde noch über eine England-Rückkehr von Kante spekuliert. Wie die britische Zeitung „The Guardian“ damals berichtete, war Premier-League-Klub West Ham United heiß auf den Mittelfeld-Motor. Die „Hammers“ wären bereit gewesen, um die 23 Millionen Euro nach Saudi-Arabien zu überweisen. Doch die Saudis ließen Kante nicht ziehen!
Kanté spielte bereits für zwei Klubs im englischen Fußballoberhaus. Von 2015 bis 2016 lief er für Leicester City auf, wurde mit den „Foxes“ damals sensationell Meister. Daraufhin wechselte er für knapp 36 Millionen Euro zum FC Chelsea. Mit den „Blues“ wurde er 2016 ebenfalls Meister, dazu gewann er die Europa League (2019) und Champions League (2021).

Nach sieben Jahren beim FC Chelsea wechselte der Abräumer dann in die Wüste, spielt aktuell für Al-Ittihad. In der letzten Saison hat er 44 Pflichtspiele absolviert (vier Tore, sechs Assists). Sein Vertrag läuft noch bis 2026.
Sein potenzieller Neu-Arbeitgeber steht in der türkischen Liga aktuell auf Platz vier – ganze 24 Punkte hinter Spitzenreiter und Stadtrivale Galatasaray. Aufgrund der schlechten Platzierung will Solskjaer seinen Kader umbauen und hofft dabei auf namhafte Stars. Kanté würde in Istanbul auf den Ex-Bremer Milot Rashica (28) und den Ex-Dortmunder Ciro Immobile (35) treffen.
