There is no doubt that Jalen Hurts and Christian McCaffrey are among the biggest stars in the NFL. The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback already has a Super Bowl ring, while McCaffrey has had a great career and came very close to winning the Vince Lombardi Trophy in 2023.
Hurts entered the NFL as a second-round draft pick and, through hard work, earned his place as the leader of the Philadelphia Eagles. On the other hand, McCaffrey was a first-round pick; during his time with the Carolina Panthers and now with the San Francisco 49ers, he has become one of the best running backs in the NFL.

Both are fantastic players; however, there is one statistic that separates them, where Jalen Hurts impressively surpasses McCaffrey.
Rushing touchdowns between Hurts and McCaffrey
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has more career rushing touchdowns than 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey. Hurts has 55, while McCaffrey has 52. Additionally, the former Alabama player has played 18 fewer NFL games, making this a significant statistic. One is a quarterback, and the other is a running back.
Despite this, both players are important in the league, and through their effort, dedication, and talent, they have earned the respect of NFL fans.
In McCaffrey’s case, along with Saquon Barkley, he is one of the best running backs in the NFL, but injuries have been a problem. In 2023, the 49ers’ running back recorded 1,459 rushing yards in a season where they reached the Super Bowl.
However, in 2024, McCaffrey suffered a couple of injuries and was only able to play four games. Now, many analysts believe the 49ers should at least consider a trade to get something in return for the former Stanford star.
Hurts is a proven star in Philadelphia
During a season in which he secured a massive contract-at one point the highest-paid player in the NFL-Hurts cemented his status by winning the Super Bowl. That season, he accumulated 2,903 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, and only 5 interceptions, achieving a passer rating of 103.7.
