Der Tabellen-15. der Daikin Handball-Bundesliga präsentierte mitten in der Saison einen neuen Hauptsponsor. Das Versicherungsunternehmen WGV steigt sofort ein. Heißt auch: Bereits beim nächsten Spiel am Freitag bei der HSG Wetzlar (19 Uhr/live bei Dyn/Anzeige) wird der neue Partner auf dem Bauch und der Schulter der Profis zu sehen sein.

WGV-Chef Dr. Klaus Brachmann erklärt den ungewöhnlichen Einstiegszeitpunkt mitten in der Saison: „Wenn man das jetzt in die Kommunikation gibt und dann passiert erstmal eine Weile nichts, haben beide Seiten nichts davon.“
Doppelt gut für den TVB: Die Stuttgarter bekommen zwar einen neuen Hauptsponsor, behalten aber trotzdem ihren alten. Reinigungs-Gigant Kärcher will weiter mit Hochdruck dafür sorgen, dass die Schwaben in die oberen Regionen der HBL vorstoßen.
Handball: WGV wird neuer Hauptsponsor beim TVB Stuttgart
Das betonte CEO Hartmut Jenner, der ebenfalls bei der Verkündung anwesend war: „Kärcher ist Weltmarktführer, insofern … Der TVB hat sich in der ersten Liga etabliert, ist keine Fahrstuhl-Mannschaft. Der nächste Schritt ist jetzt, sich mittelfristig auf den einstelligen Tabellenplätzen zu etablieren. Wir sind noch nicht ganz zufrieden mit der sportlichen Entwicklung der letzten zwei, drei Jahre.“
Damit, sich die Brust der Handballer künftig zu teilen, hat Jenner kein Problem: „Wenn man sich zu sehr auf einen starken Sponsor verlässt, kann es schnell mal zu einer Schieflage kommen, damit hat man im Handballsport ja auch schon Erfahrungen gemacht.“
[–>Beide Hauptsponsoren bringen geschätzt jeweils rund eine Million Euro, haben Verträge bis 2030 (WGV) und 2031 (Kärcher). Auch ein Grund dafür, dass der TVB für die neue Saison Spieler wie Antonio Serradilla aus Magdeburg oder Trainer Misha Kaufmann vom ThSV Eisenach holen konnte.
TVB-Geschäftsführer und -Interimstrainer Jürgen Schweikardt: „Wir haben ambitionierte Ziele, wollen uns in den Top 10 in Deutschland etablieren. Die Mannschaft für die kommende Saison steht, aber es gibt den Spielraum, eventuelle Schwächen auszumerzen.“

Dass der Klassenerhalt bei nur vier Punkten Vorsprung auf den 17. Erlangen noch nicht gesichert ist, ist für den neuen Partner übrigens kein Problem.
„Wir sind überzeugt, dass der Klassenerhalt gelingt“, sagt Brachmann, „wenn nicht, gehen wir aber auch den Weg in die 2. Liga mit.
