Revelan revolcón y amenaza a Néstor Lorenzo en la Selección Colombia para jugar con Perú y Argentina

Increíblemente, el proceso de Néstor Lorenzo en la Selección Colombia ha pasado de estar cerca de la excelencia, a ponerse en duda su continuidad en el cargo, apenas con una diferencia de 8 meses. Fue la derrota con Argentina en la final de Copa América 2024 el punto de quiebre y el hecho que cambió la historia.

De septiembre del 2022 a julio del 2024, el equipo nacional colombiano sacó 19 triunfos (12 en amistosos, 3 en Eliminatorias, 4 en Copa América) y 6 empates (2 en amistosos, 3 en Eliminatorias, una en Copa América). Pero cuando se dio la derrota en la disputa por el título aquel 14 de julio del año anterior en Miami, empezó todo en declive y llegaron 2 triunfos, 2 empates y 4 derrotas; todos esos 8 partidos fueron por Eliminatorias al Mundial 2026.

Así, los de Lorenzo pasaron a estar en la lucha con Argentina por el liderato de la tabla, a estar en el sexto lugar, el último que entrega cupos directos a la cita mundialista y a 5 puntos de Venezuela, que es el que está en la casilla del repechaje por Conmebol. Todo un contexto inesperado y que ha llevado a tomar decisiones a futuro en la Federación Colombiana de Fútbol (FCF).

Amenaza en la FCF por malos resultados de Colombia con Néstor Lorenzo

Después de la derrota con Brasil en Brasilia y, sobre todo, por el empate en casa contra Paraguay, se supo que los directivos de la FCF estaban divididos sobre la continuidad de Lorenzo en el comando del equipo masculino de mayores. Incluso, el periodista Javier Hernández Bonnet de Caracol Televisión, canal que transmite oficialmente los partidos de la Selección Colombia, afirmó que habló con Álvaro González Alzate y dejó saber las ganas de cambiar al seleccionador nacional.

“Me dijo que hay Comité Ejecutivo la semana entrante, no es conveniente que vaya el director técnico porque no es productivo que un DT esté en una deliberación donde se tocan temas futbolísticos. Él va a dar sus razones y nosotros debemos tener independencia para establecer lo que creemos. Lo único cierto es que Colombia clasifica para el Campeonato Mundial e inmediatamente se revisará la continuidad de Néstor Lorenzo y va a depender del remate de las Eliminatorias. Ha perdido la confianza de los dirigentes, de la afición, de un sector del periodismo y parte de los jugadores de la Selección Colombia”, así lo contó el comunicador en Blu Radio sobre su charla con el integrante del Comité Ejecutivo de la FCF, que es vicepresidente de la misma entidad, al otro día del empate en casa con los guaraníes.

Ahora, el que habló fue el periodista Carlos Antonio Vélez, que trabaja en Win Sports, RCN Radio y Canal RCN, el otro canal con derechos de transmisión para los partidos de Colombia. Y por su amistad con los directivos principales de la Federación, el mismo González Alzate y Ramón Jesurún, presidente de la entidad, se arriesgó a revelar los planes que le han comentado que hay para los partidos de junio por Eliminatorias: contra Perú en Barranquilla y contra Argentina de visita.

Vélez, que ha sido crítico de Lorenzo hace un buen tiempo, empezando por haber sido el asistente técnico de José Pékerman en el proceso del 2012 al 2018, contó en el programa ‘Planeta Fútbol’ de la emisora Antena 2 lo que viene. “Esta semana habrá encuentro, cabeza a cabeza, entre el presidente de la Federación Colombiana de Fútbol y Néstor Lorenzo. No va a haber ‘sangre en el río’, se van a seguir conversando cosas que tienen que ver con el rendimiento… No esperen que, de esta reunión, esta semana, pueda salir algo distinto a que vamos a ‘enmendar la plana’. Ya el técnico sabe quiénes le han fallado y sería demasiado si insiste en sus errores y en su ‘club de amigos’…”, esto lo dijo Vélez el pasado martes 1 de abril en su espacio de opinión para descartar que lo vayan a despedir, pero abrir la puerta a cambios en los convocados habituales.

Sin embargo, Carlos Antonio Vélez confirmó que González Alzate quiere sacar al técnico argentino y que este directivo no va a estar en la reunión, ya que está acompañando a uno de los equipos femeninos en un compromiso internacional: “Lo salva que Álvaro González no va a estar en la reunión, porque Álvaro está ‘cargado como pa’ tigre’. Si de Álvaro González dependiera la decisión, sacaba a Lorenzo, con eso les digo todo. Álvaro González siempre ha defendido al técnico colombiano y en este momento, que me perdonen los técnicos colombianos, no hay ninguno ‘con ropa para esta fiesta’…”.

Aunque parece una versión periodística, los 2 representantes de las transmisiones oficiales de ‘la Tricolor’, con contacto directo con las cabezas de la FCF, coinciden en que Lorenzo ya está amenazado y condicionado para continuar. No importa si clasifica o no el Mundial 2030, se va a analizar su futuro.

Decisiones de Colombia para jugar contra Perú y Argentina por Eliminatorias Mundial 2023

Eso no fue lo único que manifestó el polémico periodista, que también tiene frecuentes salidas contra James Rodríguez y críticas fuertes a varios jugadores del equipo nacional, Vélez también afirmó que Colombia no va a jugar el compromiso contra Perú en Barranquilla el jueves 5 de junio. “Habrá reunión y ya se está planificando la doble fecha. Les anticipo que el partido contra Perú no será jueves 5, viernes 6 de junio. No es jueves, es viernes. La fecha arrancará jueves, primera semana de junio, pero Colombia jugará viernes contra Perú en Barranquilla”, según varias fuentes cercanas a la FCF, esto tiene en cuenta que haya un día más de entrenamientos, además de ayudar a la logística de los hinchas que viajan a la ciudad para que puedan llegar a la sede del evento y aprovechen el fin de semana completo en Barranquilla, Santa Marta y/o Cartagena.

Otra de las supuestas decisiones ya tomadas, como se sabe que cada federación es la que establece su horario de inicio, es que Colombia vs. Perú jueguen en la tarde del mencionado viernes para volver a jugar en el calor y la humedad de la tarde. Horario en el que se dieron los triunfos contra Argentina y Chile, además del empate contra Uruguay: “Se concretará esta semana: Partido: 3:30 p. m., volvemos a cambiar el horario y nos ponemos por la tarde. Esa es la idea… Después de la reunión Lorenzo-Jesurún, saldrá el finiquito”.

Y dentro del análisis que habría comentado Vélez con uno o varios directivos, entienden que por la gran presencia de jugadores argentinos en el Mundial de Clubes 2025, que empieza unos días después de esa doble fecha de Eliminatorias de junio, ‘la Albiceleste’ tendría bajas o jugadores con la atención puesta en ese compromiso, empezando por Lionel Messi con Inter Miami. “Argentina no tendrá su mejor equipo allá, todos los que van a estar en el Mundial de Clubes, días después, no van a ir, seguramente… No está confirmado que sea en Buenos Aires”, dijo el periodista, antes de hablar que el plan es sumar de 4 a 6 puntos.

Es complicado que se sepan estos detalles hacia la prensa, los hinchas y el exterior de la Federación Colombiana de Fútbol y la Selección Colombia, pero las señales y versiones coinciden y el revolcón que quieren los directivos, en el que entra Néstor Lorenzo, en unos días podría quedar confirmado.
