Se ha hablado mucho de Carlos Sainz y su inicio de 2025, con dos grandes premios llenos de dificultades, cuando Williams parece el coche revelación y cuando el propio piloto español lo fue de los test de pretemporada con el mejor tiempo global. Y a eso se refería el madrileño al llegar a Suzuka este jueves.
“Está claro que fuimos muy rápidos en Bahréin (test 2025) y en Abu Dhabi (test 2024), y fuimos bastante rápidos en Australia, en seco, hasta la Q3 y luego sí que es verdad que tuvimos el problema en carrera y que en China no fuimos rápidos y nos faltaban dos o tres décimas por vuelta en carrera y es algo que hemos estado mirando con atención”, repasaba analítico el ’55’ sobre su inicio de año.
“China seguramente es un circuito muy particular, con un asfalto muy particular y está claro que lo que había allí no funcionaba con el Williams”, afirmaba sobre el último fin de semana.
Y a continuación Carlos habla de lo que va a aplicar en Suzuka, para intentar dar un giro a su inicio de temporada. “Estamos trabajando en cambiar un poco mi estilo de pilotaje para ese tipo de circuito y ese tipo de asfalto y luego, por otra parte, cambiar también el coche, adaptarlo un poco más en mi dirección y fijarnos un poco en lo que nos fue bien en los test de Bahréin”, revela sobre esas pruebas invernales en las que hay que recordar que se llevó el mejor tiempo total de los tres días..
“Así, con esas experiencias y esas teorías afrontaremos Suzuka con ganas y con motivación para ver si podemos dar un pasito adelante”, dice con humildad sobre este fin de semana, cuando es uno de los mejores de la parrilla.
Sobre Lawson y Red Bull
En cuanto a una de la noticias de la semana, el ascenso de Tsunoda para bajar a Lawson a Red Bull, dice no estar sorprendido. “No. Sólo creo que no es nada nuevo, es Red Bull y la forma en la que están gestionando las cosas, algo que hemos visto en los últimos diez años en Fórmula 1 o desde que yo estoy. Así es como se hacen las cosas allí. Un día tienes la oportunidad y al día siguiente, si no haces lo que esperan de ti recibes el ascenso o el descenso. Así se hacen las cosas en Red Bull”, ha comentado.
“Todos dicen que es el trabajo más duro en la Fórmula 1, estar al lado de Max en un coche que él conoce tan bien. No sé si eso es lo que la gente está hablando. Creo que es algo bueno para mí, pero al mismo tiempo, no me importa, porque estoy en el lugar en el que quiero estar ahora, en un lugar bueno para mi futuro. Yo estoy impaciente por ver adónde llegamos con Williams”, asegura..
