Wird es Zeit für einen Tapetenwechsel?
Pep Guardiola ist bei Manchester City in seiner neunten Saison. Für den England-Meister hat der Spanier sogar seine Prinzipien über Bord geworfen, länger als drei oder vier Spielzeiten bei einem Klub zu bleiben. So war es bisher bei seinen Ex-Vereinen FC Barcelona und FC Bayern.
Und: Bei Manchester hat der Star-Trainer sogar vorzeitig verlängert im vergangenen Herbst. Sein Vertrag läuft jetzt bis 2027 – insgesamt wären es dann elf Jahre bei den „Cityzens“.

Aktuell läuft es nicht beim Pep und Man City. In der Premier League ist die Star-Truppe nur Vierter in der Tabelle. Die Meisterschaft ist quasi weg, auf Spitzenreiter Liverpool beträgt der Rückstand bereits 22 Punkte. Das kann auch der Serien-Meister der letzten vier Jahre nicht aufholen. Auch in der Champions League ist City schon raus. In den Playoffs scheiterten die Engländer an Real Madrid. Letzte Titelchance in dieser Saison: der FA Cup. Dort hat der Pep-Klub das Halbfinale erreicht.
Denkt Guardiola nach dieser verkorksten Saison über einen vorzeitigen Abgang nach? In Italien hofft derweil ein Top-Klub, dass der Katalane über eine neue Herausforderung nachdenkt. Denn: Der AC Mailand konnte nach der Saison einen Trainer-Wechsel vornehmen. Wunschkandidat für die Trainer-Bank: Guardiola. Das berichten die beiden italienischen Sportzeitungen „Gazetta dello Sport“ und „Corriere della Sera“ übereinstimmend.
Beim Serie-A-Klub steht nach der Saison ein weiterer Umbruch an. Neben der Trainer-Stelle, die aktuell noch Sérgio Conceição innehat, soll auch die des Sportdirektors neu besetzt werden. Dafür steht Fabio Paratici als aussichtsreicher Kandidat im Fokus.
Sollte Pep kein Interesse am Mailand-Job haben, könnte Roberto De Zerbi von Olympique Marseille, der in der vergangenen Saison auch beim FC Bayern ein Thema war, ein Angebot unterbreitet werden.
Conceição, der das Traineramt bei Milan erst im Winter übernommen hatte, werden derzeit wenig Chancen ausgerechnet, dass er seinen Job behalten darf.
