Dieser Sieg ist ganz besonders für ihn!
Star-Trainer Pep Guardiola (54) und Manchester City haben am Mittwoch in der Premier League einen 2:0-Sieg gegen Leicester gefeiert. Dabei traf Man-City-Star Jack Grealish (29) erstmals seit 473 Tagen wieder (zuletzt am 16. Dezember 2023).
Und das ausgerechnet an einem sehr speziellen Datum für den Engländer! Denn vor genau 25 Jahren war sein Bruder Keelan am 2. April verstorben.

Im Interview nach dem Spiel weint Grealish um seinen verstorbenen Bruder, sagt unter Tränen: „Ich hatte das Gefühl, dass ich es verdient habe, heute Abend zu spielen, und ich war einfach glücklich. Es war heute ein schöner Tag, weil mein kleiner Bruder heute vor 25 Jahren verstorben ist.“
Und weiter: „Deshalb ist dieser Tag in der Familie immer schwer. Meine Mutter und mein Vater waren hier, und ich glaube, dieser Tag ist in der Familie immer schwierig, also ist es großartig, ein Tor zu erzielen und zu gewinnen.“
[–>Auch auf seinem Instagram-Profil hat Grealish seinem verstorbenen Bruder das Tor gewidmet. Neben einem Foto seines Torjubels, wo er mit zwei Händen in Richtung Himmel zeigt, hat er auch ein Foto von Keelans Grab mit vielen Blumen veröffentlicht. Dazu schreibt er: „Immer bei mir, besonders an diesem Tag. Das war für dich, Keelan“.
Keelan war kurz nach der Geburt am plötzlichen und tragischen Kindstod gestorben. Jack war damals selbst erst vier Jahre alt.
Grealish-Papa Kevin über die Tragödie: „Er war erst neun Monate alt, er war ein kleiner Engel und ich war am Boden zerstört. Das waren wir alle. Jack war damals selbst noch ein Kind, aber er erinnert sich immer noch an Keelan und denkt bei allem, was er erreicht, immer noch an ihn.“

Und weiter: „Wir vermissen Keelan immer noch und denken immer noch an ihn – man kommt nie über den Verlust eines Kindes hinweg – aber wir sind so dankbar und glücklich, dass wir mit Jack, seinem Bruder Kevan und seinen kleinen Schwestern Holly und Kiera gesegnet sind.“
