Em sua participação no 49º congresso da UEFA em Belgrado, na Sérvia, o presidente da FIFA, Gianni Infantino, divulgou os países que se candidataram para sediar a Copa do Mundo Feminina em 2031 e 2035.
Os Estados Unidos, que pode ter o México como parceiro, surge como principal e único candidato até o momento para sediar a competição em 2031, pós-Brasil 2027.
O país norte-americano se candidatou e pode ter possível parceria com o México, porém, Gianni Infantino não deu certeza da participação dos mexicanos na candidatura. Vale lembrar que os EUA sediaram a Copa Feminina em 2003, e são um dos países com maior tradição no futebol feminino na história, e são os maiores campeões com 4 títulos (1991, 1999, 2015 e 2019).
Reino Unido tem interesse em 2035
Após 2031, a Copa do Mundo Feminina acontece em 2035, e os países interessados são Inglaterra, País de Gales, Irlanda do Norte e Escócia. O conjunto afirmou que irá enviar uma manifestação coletiva de interesse.
O anúncio oficial das sedes deve acontecer no 76º congresso da FIFA em 2026. Vale lembrar que a Copa do Mundo Feminina 2027 acontece no Brasil. Será a primeira edição da Copa feminina em nosso país.
O Brasil deve usar a maioria dos estádios usados na Copa do Mundo de 2014, com exclusão dos estádios em Curitiba e Natal. A novidade é a sede em Belém, com o Estádio Mangueirão.
Datas da Copa do Mundo 2027
A Copa do Mundo Feminina 2027, no Brasil, acontece entre os dias 24 de junho e 25 de julho. Vale lembrar que a seleção brasileira já está classificada automaticamente. A final e também a abertura da competição deve ser no Estádio do Maracanã.
