O Brasil vai defender seu título da Nations Cup de goalball. Seleção brasileira masculina terá jogos a partir de sexta-feira (4) e estreia contra Montenegro. Os brasileiros são os atuais campeões da competição que reunirá 16 países em quatro grupos a serem disputados na Alemanha.
Além de Montenegro, o Brasil joga contra Alemanha e Polônia e as partidas terão transmissão ao vivo pela plataforma Vimeo, oficial da Nations Cup.
Seleção brasileira fez preparação em Portugal
O fato é que, antes de desembarcar na Alemanha, a seleção brasileira fez um período de preparação em Portugal na cidade de Pocinhos. A preparação incluiu amistosos para a equipe formada por Alex Melo(“Labrador”), Denis de Oliveira, Emerson Ernesto, Leomon Moreno, Mizael Sousa e Sharlley Silva.
Em 2024, antes das Paralimpíadas, os brasileiros derrotaram o Japão por 10 a 7 e conquistaram o título inédito.
““Essa é uma conquista muito importante para a gente. E o principal: conseguimos colher os frutos dos objetivos traçados, atingimos todos eles. Fizemos grandes jogos contra equipes fortes , um campeonato nivelado por cima. Então, para a nossa preparação, foi fundamental ter vindo.”, disse o técnico da seleção, Jônatas Castro, na ocasião.
Brasil levou bronze em Paris 2024
A equipe nacional volta a Nations Cup, após a conquista da medalha de bronze nas Paralimpíadas de Paris. O time venceu a China por 5 a 3. Os gols brasileiros foram marcados por Leomon, que foi o artilheiro da partida com três e os outros dois foram anotados por José Marcio.
Como funciona o goalball
O goalball foi desenvolvido exclusivamente para pessoas com deficiência visual (homens e mulheres). A quadra tem as mesmas dimensões das de vôlei (nove metros de largura por 18 metros de comprimento). As partidas são realizadas em dois tempos de 12 minutos, com três minutos de intervalo. Cada equipe conta com três jogadores titulares e três reservas.
De cada lado da quadra, há um gol com nove metros de largura e 1,30 metro de altura. Os atletas são, ao mesmo tempo, arremessadores e defensores. O arremesso deve ser rasteiro ou tocar pelo menos uma vez nas áreas obrigatórias. O objetivo é balançar a rede adversária e a bola tem um guizo em seu interior para que os jogadores saibam sua direção.
