„Wenn er Lust hat in der Kings League zu spielen: Lieber Thomas, ich werde einen Platz für dich finden. Wäre schon witzig, wenn er mal dabei wäre“, sagte Schweinsteiger bei einem Launch-Event der „Kings League“ in Köln (Kleinfeldfußballliga, Start: 12. April). Dort traf BILD die League-Gründer Gerard Piqué (38) und Schweinsteiger. Der Weltmeister von 2014 ist Präsident der Liga in Deutschland.
Bayern-Urgestein Müller wird beim Rekordmeister wohl keinen weiteren Vertrag erhalten. Schweinsteiger hat gemischte Gefühle, was die Bayern-Entscheidung angeht, nicht mit Müller zu verlängern: „Das ist schwer zu sagen. Für mich ist nur wichtig, was Thomas machen will. Er kann das ja selbst bestimmen, ob er aufhört oder weiterspielt. Da kann ich ihm schlecht etwas raten.“

Die 2022 gegründete Kleinfeld-Liga gilt als Vorreiter für die hierzulande gegründeten Baller- und Icon League. Acht bis zwölf Teams – Sieben gegen sieben. Top-Spieler, Amateur-Fußballer und Social-Media-Stars treffen hier aufeinander.
Das Besondere: außergewöhnliche Regeln! Vor jedem Spiel ziehen die Trainer eine Geheimkarte. Diese entscheiden über Extras, die es in einer Partie gibt. Beispiele: „Doppeltor“ – zwei Minuten lang zählt jedes erzielte Tor doppelt. Mit einer „Elfmeter“-Karte darf im Spiel ein Strafstoß beantragt werden. „Diebstahl“-Karte: der Trainer darf die Karte des Gegners stehlen.

Schweinsteiger zu der außergewöhnlichen Liga: „Ich finde, dass die Liga eine super Ergänzung zum klassischen Elf gegen elf ist – gerade für Kinder. Da kann man Begeisterung entfachen, für Kinder sind Kleinfelder einfacher zu bespielen als Großfelder. Dann noch die Zutaten, die Regeln. Das macht das sehr attraktiv. Man hat keine 0:0s, es ist immer etwas los, das finde ich interessant.“
Besonders eine junge Zielgruppe soll durch die Kleinfeld-Spiele angesprochen werden: „Ich bin großer Fan der Tradition und der klassische Fußball hat seinen Glanz und wird ihn immer haben. Aber so ein Format ist noch eine Chance, einer Generation die Möglichkeit zu geben, auch anderes auszutesten. Da ist überhaupt kein Konkurrenzdenken vorhanden. Wir wollen nur eine Möglichkeit bieten, woanders Fußball zu spielen“, so der Ex-Nationalspieler.

Schweinsteiger über die wilden Regeln: „Als Fußballer, wenn man 0:1 zurückliegt, wie gegen Spanien bei der WM, habe ich mir oft gewünscht, dass es ein Doppel-Tor gibt. Also ein Tor, das für zwei zählt und man das Spiel so direkt drehen kann. Die Penaltys finde ich hier auch gut.“
Und wird der Präsidenten auch auf dem Feld stehen? „Vielleicht mache ich auch ein paar Mal auf dem Platz mit. Das kommt darauf an. Manchmal ergeben sich Situationen, wie bei dem Legendenspiel, als wir in der Allianz Arena das Champions-League Finale 2013 gegen Dortmund nachgestellt haben. Da wollte ich auch nicht spielen, war null vorbereitet. Dann habe ich aber wegen Jupp Heynckes gespielt. Vielleicht passiert so was auch in der Kings League.“
