El guardameta checo fue a presenciar el encuentro como un aficionado más, pensando que pasaría desapercibido. Sin embargo, apareció en la retransmisión de Movistar + en primer plano.
El asunto se hubiese quedado en una mera anécdota, si no fuese porque sobre su cuello llevaba una bufanda del Atlético de Madrid. Este hecho ha cabreado bastante a la afición del club azulón, que no tardó en reconocer a su portero por medio de las redes sociales. “Los jugadores son humanos, pero creo que hay cosas que te puedes ahorrar. Letacek podría haber estado en el Metropolitano tranquilamente sin necesidad de ponerte la bufanda de un rival de tu misma liga. Y más, del que te metió 5 en la anterior ronda”, comentaba un seguidor del Getafe.

Y es que, el hecho de que el Atlético fuese el equipo que eliminase al Getafe de Copa, tras un 5-0, ha echado más leña al fuego. Aquella noche, como suele ser habitual en la competición copera, Letacek fue titular, y no tuvo su mejor actuación. Pudo hacer más tanto en el primero, que se quedó a media salida, como en el último gol.

Letacek llegó al Getafe el pasado verano, procedente del Baník Ostrava. Firmó para las próximas cuatro temporadas. El club capitalino desembolsó alrededor de un millón y medio de euros más variables por el portero. Este venía de disputar 34 encuentros la pasada campaña, con nueve porterías a cero entre liga y copa checa.

Con el Getafe tan solo ha disputado cinco partidos, todos de Copa del Rey. En los cuatro primeros dejó la portería a cero y ayudó a que el cuadro de Bordalás se colase en los cuartos de final.
