Fernando Alonso retornará a un país que le ha dado bastantes alegrías a lo largo de su carrera en la F1. El piloto asturiano se ha sentado en lo más alto del podio en dos ocasiones en el Gran Premio de Japón (2006, 2008), pero solo una de ellas en Circuito Internacional de Suzuka; sin embargo, el escenario más recordado fue en la temporada 2005 de la categoría reina del deporte motor, gracias a su adelantamiento a Michael Schumacher en la ‘130R‘.
Un adelantamiento ‘imposible’
Tras haber alzado su primer Mundial de pilotos en la fecha anterior en el GP de Brasil, el entonces piloto de ‘Renault‘ aterrizó en Asia sin ninguna presión a sus espaldas. No obstante, Alonso no dejó de pelear por un lugar en el podio en uno de los trazados más emblemáticos del calendario, en el que protagonizó una férrea batalla con el siete veces campeón del mundo, Michael Schumacher.
Todo sucedió en la vuelta 20 de la carrera. El asturiano se lanzó sobre el germano en la curva ‘130R‘, uno de los puntos críticos del trazado favorito del competidor español. “Fue un adelantamiento que sólo podías hacer a rivales como él, que sabes que te va a dejar espacio. Con otros no te atreverías a meterte ahí”, sostuvo Luis García Abad, ex representante de Fernando Alonso, tras el adelantamiento.

Asimismo, Fernando Alonso aclaró la razón detrás de su atrevido movimiento sobre el piloto de Ferrari que, según la telemetría de Renault, el R25 del español alcanzó los 331 km/h en ese giro a izquierdas. “Estuvo bien. Sabía que iba a frenar porque él tiene una mujer y dos hijos esperándole en casa, yo no”, sentenció el bicampeón del mundo.

“Suzuka es genial porque es muy exigente y perfecto para los coches de Fórmula 1. El primer sector es bastante impresionante y cuando todo funciona bien y confías en el coche puedes empujar de verdad. Las fuerzas G y las sensaciones que obtienes cuando pilotas allí son bastante increíbles”, analizó Alonso en la pasada temporada 2018 de la Fórmula 1.
