Frisco police said the incident occurred during the University Interscholastic League (UIL) District 11-5A Championship competition.

According to the police report, Karmelo Anthony, a football player at Frisco Centennial High School, killed Austin Metcalf, an athlete and football player at Frisco Memorial High School, after an argument at the event.
Anthony is being held without bail on a first-degree felony charge.

“The Frisco Police Department deeply regrets this devastating loss and extends its sincerest condolences to the victim’s family, students and staff, who are experiencing unimaginable grief.
