“Bueno, ha sido una crono… no lo sé, diría que después de esta mañana esperada, porque todos los análisis que teníamos, parecía difícil pasar de la Q1, como lo fue, porque pasé solamente el 14º, y luego en la Q2 el 13º, así que bueno, después de cuatro intentos, cuatro juegos de neumáticos es la posición que merecemos hoy, no merecemos estar en la Q3”, analizaba en DAZN F1.
“Ayer yo creo que éramos un pelín más competitivos y tenía esperanza de que fuese posible estar en el top 10, pero hoy hemos visto que no era posible, así que hay que seguir mejorando”, añadía.
“Mañana carrera puede ofrecer alguna posibilidad, si llueve sobre todo, para los que no estamos en los puntos, así que intentaremos aprovechar cualquier oportunidad. Veremos, yo creo que después de tres carreras y no teniendo ninguna mejora, por ahora en ningún fin de semana estamos donde estamos, para acabar entre el 12 y el 16, digamos, con nuestras posiciones. Afortunadamente hemos cogido ya 10 puntos con el caos de Australia y con las descalificaciones de China, pero si no yo creo que en carreras normales es difícil coger puntos”, incidía sobre el nivel del coche en este inicio de temporada.
Al ataque sin reservas
Lo que tiene claro es que pese a no haber acabado las dos primeras citas es que la lluvia brinda otra oportunidad de estar más arriba y lo sucedido en Australia no arredra al asturiano en su mentalidad.
“Puede que sea no una carrera normal, con la lluvia, y ahí intentaremos otra vez atacar, aunque sabemos que cuando atacas en la lluvia puedes tener otro abandono y es difícil calcular el riesgo”, advierte.
“Pero bueno, en este momento del campeonato creo que vale más atacar que mirar cómo estás fuera de los puntos”, asegura sobre lo que toca en esta fase del año.
Todo en milésimas
” Sí, en positivo, yo creo que para el espectador es genial, ver que en dos décimas puedes estar en el top 18 u octavo. Así que también, bueno, de alguna manera eso nos da esperanzas. Sabemos que ahora no tenemos el nivel necesario para estar en el top 10 y que tenemos que mejorar, pero que la mejora no hace falta que sea de medio segundo”, dice sobre lo que puede cambiar el Mundial con muy poco.
