No parece el panorama más alentador para el extraño Aston Martin AMR25, ni en comparación de su precedesor (empezó bien 2024) ni en perspectivas futuras. Pero más allá de las nubes, puede salir el sol. El español no negocia su nivel y sigue destacando. Luchará en Suzuka desde la 12º, una posición mejor que su 13º inicial tras la sanción a Carlos Sainz tras el ‘impeding’ a Lewis Hamilton.

No solo se aprecia en las sesiones, donde Alonso lleva al límite el AMR25. También desde dentro del equipo lo mantienen. “Puede estar satisfecho. No es un resultado espectacular, pero los que estamos dentro y vemos la telemetría, apreciamos lo que ataca Fernando. Está firmando un fin de semana espectacular”, cuenta Pedro de la Rosa, embajador del equipo británico, a DAZN.

De la Rosa incide en el empuje del 14. No deja de tirar. Busca subir un punto más respecto a lo que debería ocupar con el rendimiento teórico AMR25. “Es un coche muy complicado y Alonso está atacando como una bestia”, añade el también comentarista televisivo.
Aunque produce errores, claro. Alguno, como el de Melbourne, no tiene culpa en el propio piloto. Pero el de la FP2 de Suzuka, sí. “Es un dos veces campeón, que a los 43 viene a Suzuka y comete un error porque ataca con todo cuando el coche no es competitivo”, explica De la Rosa.

Ahora vale más atacar
El momento del asturiano será la carrera. Buscará, primero, terminar y pescar un buen resultado. Por ejemplo, su compañero Lance Stroll lo logró sin brillo -y sin casi ritmo- alguno. Pero vale, muchas veces, con estar. “Puede que no sea una carrera normal e intentaremos atacar. Aunque sabemos que si atacas en lluvia, puedes tener otro abandono”, reconoció Alonso.
Buscará romper la mala racha con una actuación convincente. Y no duda. Atacará. Es el único camino. “En este momento del campeonato vale más atacar que mirar cómo estás fuera de los puntos”, cerró Alonso.
