La salida de Kevin De Bruyne marca el cierre de una gran etapa en el Manchester City. El jugador belga se despide del club ‘citizen’ tras haber conseguido: una Champions League, 6 Premier Leagues, 2 FA Cups, 5 Copas de la Liga, una Supercopa de Europa, un Mundial de Clubes y 3 Community Shields.

No hay duda de que, De Bruyne dejará huella en la historia del club inglés, ya que son pocos los futbolistas que consiguen ganarlo todo con un solo equipo. En el caso del centrocampista belga así lo fue. Por lo cual, el jugador de 33 años podría ser considerado como el mejor futbolista que ha pasado en la historia del Manchester City.

Pero, ¿a qué otros futbolistas se les puede contemplar como el mejor jugador que ha tenido el conjunto ‘sky blue’ en su historia?

Agüero, el máximo goleador de la historia del City

El primero no puede ser otro que el ‘Kun’ Agüero, quien vivió su mejor etapa futbolística en el club ‘citizen’. El delantero argentino estuvo durante 10 temporadas en el City, y marcó un total de 260 goles en 390 partidos, una cifra que lo mantiene, hasta ahora, como el futbolista con más goles en la historia del equipo inglés.

David Silva, es un jugador que no se queda atrás. El exfutbolista español formó parte de una etapa importante del City, donde conquistaron el primer título del club inglés después de 35 años de no haber ganado. Al final, disputó un total de 436 partidos, anotó 77 tantos y levantó 14 trofeos.

El siguiente a destacar es Carlos Tévez. El futbolista argentino es considerado como una figura emblemática en la historia del City. En la final de la FA Cup de 2011, el ‘apache’ fue capitán del equipo inglés que levantó un título después de una ‘sequía’ de 35 años, junto con Kompany, Touré y Silva. El delantero estuvo durante cuatro temporadas y marcó 73 goles en 148 partidos.

Haaland, la estrella actual del City

Erling Haaland tampoco se puede descartar como candidato a ser el mejor jugador de la historia del City. Hasta ahora, el delantero noruego ha superado las expectativas, y se ha convertido una pieza fundamental en el equipo de Guardiola. El ‘9’ está rompiendo todos los récords, y por ahora, mantiene una estadística impresionante de 120 goles en tan solo 138 partidos que lleva con el club ‘citizen’. Si mantiene el mismo nivel durante más temporadas, no habrá duda de que podrá superar los números del Kun en un futuro cercano.

Por otro lado, Raheem Sterling estuvo durante siete temporadas en el Etihad Stadium, en las cuales el futbolista británico desempeño un papel clave en el conjunto ‘citizen’, disputando un total de 339 partidos con 131 tantos. En su etapa con el City, Sterling consiguió todos los títulos: 4 Premier League, 5 Copas de la Liga, una FA Cup y una Community Shield.

Cuenta con contrato hasta la temporada 2026, por lo cual sus estadísticas seguirán aumentando para así terminarse de posicionar como uno de los mejores dentro del club inglés.

El exfutbolista marfileño fue el encargado de anotar el 1-0 frente al Stoke City en la final, un gol que no solo representaría la victoria, sino que el club conseguirá terminar con la gran ‘sequía’ de 35 años sin títulos.
