Un nuevo GP Miguel Induráin se celebró con 203 kilómetros entre la Plaza de los Fueros y la Avenida de la Inmaculada. Seis equipos españoles estuvieron presentes en una nueva edición de la carrera navarra.

No faltaron a la cita los equipos navarros Kern Pharma y Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, así como el Euskaltel-Euskadi y Burgos BH-Burpellet. Un año más, la prueba volvió a contar con los mejores equipos del mundo.
Tras un desarrollo sin ataques exitosos, todo se definió en los kilómetros finales. El Red Bull BORA, con Daniel Martínez a la cabeza, tiró del carro en los últimos 10km. A 1000 metros de coronar el ascenso final, el UAE subió el ritmo e intentó romper el pelotón en el alto de Eraul.

La escuadra emiratí llevó protegido a su corredor y campeón defensor, Brandon McNulty a los kilómetros finales. A 8km de meta, la lucha se desató en un falso plano con varios ataques.
A falta de 1,5km de meta, el corredor del Lidl-Trek, Thibau Nys se escapó en solitario en el último ascenso. El demoledor ataque le fue suficiente al belga para llevarse el GP Miguel Induraín, su primera victoria del año.
