Hart, härter Paulnsteiner!
Tabellenletzter in der Daikin Handball-Bundesliga zu sein, ist schmerzhaft. Doch was Österreichs Nationalspieler Nicolas Paulnsteiner (20) vom VfL Potsdam gerade aushalten muss, tut schon beim Lesen weh.
Im letzten Spiel gegen den Tabellenvorletzten HC Erlangen (23:26) kommt es zu dem unglücklichen Unfall. In der 44. Minute streckt Erlangens Nikolai Link (schon drei Rote Karten in dieser Saison) Potsdams Dustin Kraus (24) nieder. Kraus wird mit voller Wucht in Paulnsteiner geschubst, der Kopf von Kraus knallt in das Gesicht von Paulnsteiner.

Der blutet sofort stark aus dem Mund. Teamarzt Johannes Buitenhuis (35) muss ihn noch in der Kabine versorgen.
Paulnsteiner zu SPORT BILD: „Ja, ich bin unglücklich mit Dustin zusammengestoßen worden. Meine Lippe musste außen geklebt werden und mein Schneidezahn war locker. Zusammen mit unserem Teamarzt ging es dann nachts nach Berlin in eine Zahnklinik, da haben sie mir dann noch das Zahnfleisch innen wieder zusammengenäht und den Zahn gerichtet.“ Der wird jetzt mit einer Schiene ruhig gestellt.
Doch damit noch nicht genug der Tortur. Nach einer Woche gings für Paulnsteiner zurück in die Heimat zum Spezialisten. „Ich war jetzt für zwei Tage in Wien bei Dr. Klaus Kotschy. Der ist Mikroskopzahnarzt und kann alles genauer sehen, ob der Schneidezahn auch an der richtigen Stelle sitzt. Der muss jetzt in drei bis vier Wochen unter eine Schiene anwachsen.“

Und als wäre das nicht schon stressig genug, kam für Österreichs Top-Talent die nächste Hiobsbotschaft gleich hinterher: „Bei den ganzen Zahnuntersuchungen und beim Röntgen kam heraus, dass ich mir wohl auch noch die Nase angebrochen habe, das wird jetzt noch einmal genauer untersucht.“
Bitter für den VfL Potsdam: Paulnsteiner fällt drei bis vier Wochen aus. „Ich habe aber schon wieder im Kraftraum mit Athletik begonnen, konnte die ganze Woche gut ohne Schmerztabletten leben, musste nichts nehmen, konnte das gut aushalten. Ich bin auch wieder vorzeigbar, denn die Schwellungen im Gesicht gehen alle zurück. Deshalb konnte man das mit der Nase auch nicht so gut sehen.“

In dem Spiel gegen Erlangen verletzte sich auch Max Günther (20/Gehirnerschütterung, erlitt außerdem einen kurzen Blackout). Ob Günter am 10. April in Lemgo (19 Uhr/Dyn) wieder spielen kann, ist noch offen.
