El pasado viernes 4 de abril, en el partido entre Querétaro vs. León de la fecha 14 de la Liga MX Clausura 2025, James Rodríguez fue protagonista por varias situaciones que se vieron en el empate 1-1. Pero sus remates de media distancia, sus pases filtrados en ataque y la asistencia de gol para Salvador Reyes, quedaron de lado debido a un reclamo fuerte y agresivo al árbitro Maximiliano Quintero, que pudo significar roja para la estrella de la Selección Colombia.
Hay que decir y destacar que, desde las primeras jugadas del partido y mientras el capitán de ‘la Fiera’ intentaba conducir a su equipo de vuelta a la victoria, hubo faltas e infracciones repetitivas para evitar que alimentara a sus compañeros en ataque. Y a pesar de eso, el zurdo se las ingenió para ser peligroso, estando cerca de anotar de media distancia y poniendo el pase de gol para la apertura del marcador.
Pero al pasar los minutos y con la llegada del empate del Querétaro por medio de Aldahir Pérez, el partido empezó a volverse mucho más intenso de lo normal y cada toque de balón del colombiano era oportunidad para cortarlo con juego fuerte. En el primer tiempo fueron varias acciones en las que terminó en el piso y el central Quintero no tomó correctivos disciplinarios, algo que fue desgastando a Rodríguez hasta el punto de reaccionar de forma inesperada.

Con el 1-1 en el marcador y con León buscando con todo volver al triunfo después de 3 derrotas consecutivas, James empezó a bajar más atrás de la línea medular para armar juego desde allí. Y justo cuando iba a recibir un balón, llegó la falta de óscar Manzanárez, empujándolo arriba y pisándolo en el pie derecho.
Mientras se tomaba la zona afectada y con la frustración del caso, Rodríguez se quitó el guayo y lo lanzó justo a la dirección en la que corría el juez Maximiliano Quintero. Y, por más que haya sido una reacción normal por las constantes faltas recibidas, esto se toma como un irrespeto a la máxima autoridad en el campo de juego, por eso el jugador se llevó la amarilla.
Cuando el árbitro mostró la tarjeta, con incredulidad y sarcasmo, James aplaudió y respondió: “¿Me vas a sacar amarilla? ¿A mí? ¡Bien, muy bien!… Estás pitando muy bien”, esa fue la forma que usó el capitán del León para dar a entender que a los que le estaban pegando no los castigaban y a él sí. Aunque tenía mucha razón en el reclamo, la forma y la actitud pudo haberle significado una segunda amonestación y hasta una roja directa.

Pues en la transmisión del partido por la señal de ‘Caliente México’ los integrantes entendieron que era un reclamo porque no le podían sacar amarilla solo por ser él, una interpretación errada, pero que desencadenó comentarios duros.
“¡Berrinchitos, aquí, no, James!…”, dijo el narrador, mientras su compañero sentenció: “Si no te gusta, échalo”. De nuevo intervino el narrador para seguir señalando los gestos del exjugador del Porto, Monaco, Real Madrid, Bayern München, Everton, entre otros: “¡Tranquilo, James, tranquilo! ¿Viste cómo le dijo? ‘¿A mí? ¿Me están amonestando a mí?'”.
La seguidilla de opiniones, entre risas y críticas, siguieron en voz del comentarista: “Como si fuera intocable o qué”, para terminar con una sentencia del narrador: “Yo lo echo, le saco otra amarilla. Pase a las regaderas. Como que se enloqueció James Rodríguez, le entraron los demonios”.

Es cierto que James Rodríguez ya ha mostrado otras actitudes de molestia y frustración, ya que la seguidilla de 10 partidos sin perder y estando en el primer lugar, se cortó hace 4 jornadas y empezó la mala racha de derrotas que bajaron a ‘la Fiera’ de la parte alta. Además, en la Selección Colombia también sufrió los resultados negativos en los recientes partidos de Eliminatorias al Mundial 2026, contra Brasil y Paraguay.
También es necesario explicar que este reclamo del capitán colombiano se da por las faltas y golpes recibidos, no por ser una figura a la que no pueden amonestar. Seguramente, sea por sus redes sociales o con declaraciones, ‘el 10’ responderá y aclarará el tema, como se ha vuelto costumbre en esta etapa de su carrera, hasta apuntando a Conembol y FIFA.
