O Botafogo obteve sua primeira vitória no Brasileirão Série A 2025 ao bater o Juventude neste sábado (5), pela segunda rodada da competição. Um resultado que não apenas trouxe alívio para a equipe depois da derrota na estreia da Libertadores para a Universidad de Chile, mas também trouxe uma marca importante para o time carioca
Longa série invicta
Nos dados da Gazeta Esportiva, a vitória sobre os gaúchos foi a 18ª de invencibilidade da equipe no geral na competição. Desde o dia 27 de julho de 2024, quando perdeu para o Cruzeiro por 3 a 0, não mais foi derrotado na Série A, sendo praticamente um ‘turno’ inteiro desta sequência positiva.
Destes 18 jogos, foram 11 vitórias e sete empates, o que dá números bastante importantes em termos de aproveitamento no período, este de 74,1%. Muito de tal sequência ditou a arrancada do Glorioso que o levou a conquista do título do Brasileirão em 2024, especialmente durante o segundo turno da competição.
Importância no título
Na temporada passada, 23 jogos da Série A foram vencidos pelo Botafogo, com dez destas partidas sendo parte da sequência atual do time na competição. além da maior parte do empates (seis de dez no geral durante o certame de 2024) conquistados durante a campanha do título de 2024.
E em 2025, a sequência cresceu com o empate sem gol com o Palmeiras. na primeira rodada, e a vitória deste final de semana sobre o Juventude. A chance desta série invicta botafoguense prosseguir será no próximo sábado (12), diante do Red Bull Bragantino, pela terceira rodada da competição. Antes, buscará a primeira vitória na fase de grupos da Libertadores, na terça-feira (7), contra o Carabobo.
