Después de ser sancionado el sábado, con tres posiciones en parrilla por entorpecer una vuelta a Hamilton que no le causó ningún perjuicio al inglés en la Q2, el aviso de que debía declarar le llegó después de la carrera, por haber llegado tarde al himno nacional, algo considerado como una “falta muy grave”. No echar a un piloto de pista, ni poner en peligro la vida de otro, sino no estar a tiempo formado con el resto y las autoridades, ni por una cuestión médica. Una de las cuestiones que alega la FIA es que “debe planificarse” la visita al médico, como si pudiera planificarse la indisposición a voluntad.
Así lo confirma la sentencia, otra más, sobre el madrileño, que tras formar parrilla tuvo que ir al médico por unas molestias estomacales justo después de formar la parrilla. Fue escuchado, el doctor Messina lo confirmó y por eso le rebajaron la multa para dejarla en 20.000 (en lu gar de los 60.000 euros reglamentarios. Serán 10.000 si no reincide en 12 meses. Lo de la DGT es una broma comparado con cómo se las gastan en la F1.
El comunicado y el sablazo
La resolución de la FIA y sus explicaciones han sido las siguientes;
Los hechos: El piloto no se encontraba en su posición para el himno nacional a la hora especificada de las 13:44 h.
Infracción: Incumplimiento del Artículo 19.4 b) del Reglamento Deportivo de Fórmula 1 de la FIA.
Decisión: El piloto Carlos Sainz recibe una multa de 20.000 €, de los cuales 10.000 € se suspenden por un periodo de 12 meses, siempre que no se produzcan nuevas infracciones del Artículo 19.4.b) mencionado anteriormente durante dicho periodo.
Motivo: Los comisarios deportivos escucharon al piloto del coche 55 (Carlos Sainz), al representante del equipo y al Dr. Messina de Med-Ex, y revisaron las pruebas de vídeo.
El piloto llegó a la posición del Himno Nacional después de que este hubiera comenzado.
Durante la sesión informativa para pilotos del viernes, se recordó a todos los pilotos la obligación de estar en su posición a la hora prescrita por el reglamento y la necesidad de mostrar respeto por el himno del país anfitrión. Cabe señalar que las Directrices de Sanciones prescritas en el Apéndice B del Código Deportivo Internacional de la FIA establecen una sanción por esta infracción de 60.000 €. Sin embargo, como medida atenuante, el piloto declaró que, justo antes del Himno Nacional, experimentó molestias debido a un problema estomacal que retrasó su aparición en la parrilla. Esto fue verificado por el Dr. Messina de Med-Ex, quien confirmó el problema y afirmó haberle proporcionado la medicación adecuada.
No obstante lo anterior, mostrar respeto por el himno nacional es una alta prioridad y todas las partes deben considerar cualquier eventualidad al planificar para estar en posición para el himno a la hora requerida. Por lo tanto, se impone una sanción similar a la impuesta por una infracción similar en Canadá en 2024.
