Muchos le habían dado ya por muerto. Que si adiós a los títulos por más que estemos en abril, no en octubre. Que si hay plantilla para más… Sin embargo, lo que olvidaban es que no es buen negocio para por muerto al equipo que nunca deja de creer. Cuando nadie esperaba nada ya, en el tiempo de descuento, como tantas veces en esta campaña, el Atlético volvió a dejar claro que si hay algo de lo que va sobrado es de fe. Y ojo, que en la temporada 15-16, los del Cholo ya le remontaron nueve puntos al líder Barcelona en tres jornadas a estas alturas. De momento, ya está a siete.

Barrios, el gran tapado

Fue el gran olvidado en la última lista de De la Fuente y pasa muchas veces de tapado al rodearse de Julián, De Paul, Oblak y compañía. Sin embargo, Barrios siempre está. Sin fallo con balón, con piernas y una inteligencia diferencial. Uno de los mejores, sino el mejor, en los dos últimos meses. Sólo le faltaba el gol que tantas veces le exigía Simeone. Pues el de ayer vale su peso en oro para pelear la Liga.

Griezmann no se merece este final

La leyenda de Griezmann en el Atlético, donde nadie olvide que es el máximo goleador de la historia, no merece este final. Cierto es que es ley de vida y que los años pasan para todos, pero la cruda realidad es que a día de hoy su aportación al equipo, por más que duela verlo y decirlo, es nula. Como viene sucediendo en los dos últimos meses, en los que apenas ha dado una asistencia y ha marcado un gol, su paso por el partido fue totalmente intrascendente. Ya no tiene defensa, por más que El Cholo haya sido el último en resistirse a la evidencia. Salvo que sorprendentemente renaciera en el Mundial de Clubes, lo mejor sería ir preparando una despedida a la altura de su inigualable figura.

Julián, de penalti… a un toque

Esta vez sí, como le gusta a la UEFA, ‘desafiando’ a las reglas del fútbol de la IFAB y dejando sin argumentos a los que obviaron su ya célebre penalti para que no se viera arruinada su crítica preconcebida al planteamiento de Simeone, Julián Alvarez batió a Nyland claramente a un toque. No hubo imagen de televisión en todo el planeta que pudiera ponerlo en duda. Un engaño al portero para certificar que el Atlético por fin cuenta con un especialista al que no le tiemblan las piernas ante el punto fatídico. También con un futbolista de talla mundial: ya son 23 dianas en su primer campaña de rojiblanco.

Una queja contra la Directiva sin precedentes

Da pena ver que la afición que disfrutó viendo las tardes de gloria de Suker, Maradona, Simeone, Kanoute, Luis Fabiano, Jesús Navas y compañía viva ahora inmersa en toda una guerra civil contra la Directiva. El Pizjuán fue un clamor contra Del Nido Junior desde incluso antes de que el balón echara a rodar. Sin embargo, lo que nunca se había visto es que llegara a conseguir detener el partido en plena segunda parte. La lluvia de papeles llevó a Soto Grado a parar, lo que sirvió como un altavoz único para que quedara claro el sentir de la grada.
