In the comic book world, it’s often said that the villain makes the hero. However, this statement takes on a heartbreaking parallel in real life when the details of the legendary Stan Lee’s final days become known, as just revealed by one of the Spider-Man creator’s closest associates.
Stanley Martin Lieber-better known by his nom-de-plume, Stan Lee-is a 20th-century pop culture icon. Known for creating or co-creating characters such as the Fantastic Four, the Hulk, Iron Man, the X-Men, and, of course, Spider-Man, Lee passed away in 2018 at the age of 95, leaving behind a considerable fortune.
However, filmmaker Jonathan Bolerjack’s most recent revelations shed a new and painful light on the legendary creator’s final years. According to Bolerman, “Stan spent his final years enduring mistreatment, manipulation, and betrayal at the hands of a few bad actors.”

In a video posted on YouTube, Bolerjack lamented, “At the time, I didn’t have the power to stop it, but I did have a camera, and filmed everything.” According to the filmmaker, the footage will be part of a documentary titled “Stan Lee: The Final Chapter,” for which he is seeking funding.
In the footage, Bolerjack shows some of the alleged abuse Lee suffered, such as the moment he was shoved by a boisterous fan at a convention. You can also see the confused nonagenarian being hustled around in a wheelchair.
However, Bolerjack’s most shocking revelation is the financial abuse Lee suffered. The filmmaker claims he will expose a “thriving market where Lee’s signatures and memorabilia were converted into huge piles of cash and rival hacksters double-crossed each other to control Stan’s fortune.”

The filmmaker has not responded to media inquiries about his revelations. It is well-known in the industry and the fandom that Bolerjack has turned to crowdfunding platforms to finance his documentary about Lee, but fans are still skeptical of him.
Posts on X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit have revealed that Bolerjack has profited by exploiting the image and his connection to Lee. While the planned documentary comes to light and Bolerjack’s true motives are revealed, fans will continue to enjoy and celebrate the legacy of one of the most prolific creators of the last century.
