La receta para vencer al Barça es algo tan codiciado como el secreto de la Coca-Cola. Y es que el equipo azulgrana lleva conquistando todas las competiciones en el balonmano español desde la temporada 2013/14 tras desaperecer el BM Atlético, antes BM Ciudad Real. Desde entonces, solo unos pocos han sido capaces de quitarle algún punto a un conjunto culé que supera ampliamente en lo deportivo y en lo presupuestario al resto de clubes, cerca de sumar su decimoquinto título consecutivo en la Liga Plenitude Asobal.
Uno de ellos es el Fraikin Granollers, que puede presumir de ser el único en doblegar al Barça en la pista desde la sufrida ante el Ciudad de Logroño el 18 de mayo de 2013. Además, lo ha hecho en dos ocasiones tras la acontecida el pasado viernes, con el mérito de haber conseguido ambas en el Palau Blaugrana por un solo gol de diferencia. También lo hizo el Bathco Torrelavega, pero en los despachos por alineación indebida del cuadro culé en el partido que enfrentó a ambos el 30 de noviembre de 2021.

Es decir, en casi doce años únicamente el Granollers ha podido saborear una victoria en el parqué ante el Barcelona en el balonmano nacional. Estos datos dan una idea de la gesta alcanzada por el conjunto vallesano, sobre todo esta última vez, posponiendo la celebración de un nuevo trofeo liguero al Barça. La anterior, que data del 13 de abril de 2018, acabó con una racha de 146 partidos invicto en la Liga Asobal, 1.791 días desde la citada derrota frente al Logroño, gracias al gol in extremis del lituano Bernatonis (28-29) cuando el cuadro azulgrana ya se había proclamado campeón liguero.

La ocurrida en la pasada jornada 23 rompió todos los pronósticos cuando rodo estaba previsto para la fiesta en el Palau Blaugrana después de llegar inmaculado con 22 victorias consecutivas en este curso y doce puntos de ventaja respecto al segundo, el Granollers. Pero una magistral actuación coral de la escuadra vallesana, liderada por su defensa en 5/1, Roberto Rodríguez en portería y un colosal Pablo Urdangarín como lateral, junto a Antonio García y Víctor Romero, en ataque. Un triunfo que fue celebrado por todo lo alto dado su carácter épico y por la relevancia en su lucha por el subcampeonato con el Bidasoa y el Torrelavega.

Otro historico triunfo en el derbi, uno de los clásicos de nuestro balonmano, que será recordado por la fiel afición del Granollers, con una plantilla plagada de juventud y repleta de canteranos, una de sus señas de identidad como club, y con las bajas de Andrés Moyano, Iván Montoya y de Ferrán Castillo, esta última la más relevante dado el pletórico estado de forma del joven central internacional junior con experiencia ya con los ‘Hispanos’.

“Como club intentamos construir jugadores ambiciosos, acostumbrados a pelearse cada año para ganar campeonatos en Cataluña ante el Barça, con afán competitivo. Ganar en el Palau es algo muy especial, algo que muy poca gente logra, incluso en la Champions. Esto crea en los jugadores una motivación exra que quizás en otros partidos no tienen, pero al final sólo son dos puntos, algo mediático por contra quién es”, resalta un exultante Rama, preparador de un Granollers que podría volver a enfrentarse al Barça en la fase final de la Copa del Rey.
