Das sagt Sven-Sören Christophersen (39), Sportchef der TSV Hannover-Burgdorf. Der Ex-Nationalspieler hatte sich den letzten Spieltag ganz anders ausgemalt. Nachdem die Füchse Berlin durch das 31:31 beim HC Erlangen einen Punkt verpatzt hatten, hätte Hannover-Burgdorf die Tabellenführung übernehmen können.
Statt Sieg und Platz 1 hagelte es ein verdientes 30:36 gegen Frisch Auf Göppingen, es war Göppingens erster Auswärtssieg seit Oktober 2023. Die SG Flensburg-Handewitt verdaddelte gegen den ThSV Eisenach beim 39:39 den nächsten Zähler. Ein verrücktes Handball-Wochenende, das Folgen haben wird.

Handball-Bundesliga: Warum jetzt vieles für den SC Magdeburg spricht
In der Tabelle deutet auf den ersten Blick wenig darauf hin. Auf den Zweiten aber sehr wohl. Magdeburg belegt zwar „nur“ Rang 6, hat aber lediglich einen Minuspunkt Rückstand auf Spitzenreiter Berlin und vier (!) Spiele weniger ausgetragen.
Der große Pluspunkt beim SCM: Gegen die Teams unterhalb der Top 6 hat der amtierende Meister und Pokalsieger mit bisher 26:0-Zählern eine blütenreine Bilanz. Die Füchse haben da schon drei Minuspunkte eingesammelt, Hannover-Burgdorf jetzt sieben, Flensburg sogar acht.
Nun lohnt sich der Blick auf die noch ausstehenden acht direkten Duelle der Top 6. Da stehen für die Magdeburger nur noch zwei Vergleiche an. Beide zu Hause gegen Hannover-Burgdorf und Flensburg. Berlin hingegen hat noch drei vor der Brust, zwei davon zeitnah und in Reihenfolge.
Am 16. April müssen die Füchse zum THW Kiel, dessen inzwischen 14 Minuspunkte nach dem vergangenen Wochenende plötzlich nicht mehr ganz so niederschmetternd aussehen. Vier Tage später kommt Hannover-Burgdorf zu Gidsel & Co – zwei wegweisende Partien für die Berliner, deren überragende Tor-Differenz jedoch am Ende wie ein zusätzlicher Punkt wirken kann.
Und bitte nicht vergessen: bestes Heimteam ist nach wie vor die MT Melsungen. 12 Siege aus bisher 12 Spielen hat kein anderer Mitbewerber vorzuweisen.
