Velon ha presentado cifras que dejan claro que el dominio del esloveno en esta edición fue simplemente indiscutible. Su ritmo fue tan bestial que incluso los otros tres monstruos del día —Mads Pedersen (2º), Van der Poel (3º) y Wout van Aert (4º)— rodaron a 44,87 km/h, una velocidad que les habría dado la victoria en cualquier otra edición del Tour de Flandes.
Pedersen, del Lidl-Trek, no tuvo reparos en reconocer la magnitud de lo vivido: “No puedo hacer nada más. Tenemos que aceptar que es el mejor de la historia”.

Pogacar destrozó la carrera a 56 km de meta, lanzando una serie de ataques en el Oude Kwaremont. Encendió el caos con múltiples aceleraciones en los siguientes muros, incluyendo el Paterberg, ese infierno con rampas de hasta el 18%.
