Su ritmo fue tan bestial que incluso los otros tres monstruos del día —Mads Pedersen (2º), Van der Poel (3º) y Wout van Aert (4º)— rodaron a 44,87 km/h, una velocidad que les habría dado la victoria en cualquier otra edición del Tour de Flandes.
