Sormani se intitulou “aterrorizado” com a possibilidade de Abel Ferreira assumir a seleção brasileira. A CBF está no mercado em busca de um substituto para Dorival Júnior, que foi demitido após a goleada contra a Argentina.
Durante o programa “Opinião Placar”, Sormani afirmou que ter Abel Ferreira, multicampeão pelo Palmeiras, como possível treinador da seleção brasileira é o final dos tempos. O nome do português já era recusado pelo jornalista desde quando a fase era boa.
“O que me deixa aterrorizado é que parece que ele está sendo cotado para dirigir a seleção brasileira. Gente, será o final dos tempos. Pelo amor de Deus. Eu já não queria mesmo quando ele fazia um grande trabalho no Palmeiras”, afirmou Sormani
Quais os treinadores na mira da seleção brasileira?
De acordo com o apresentador André Rizek, da Globo, a CBF trabalha com quatro nomes: Ancelotti, do Real Madrid, Jorge Jesus, do Al-Hilal, Mourinho, do Fenerbahce, e Abel Ferreira, do Palmeiras.
Não só o nome de Abel foi recusado por Sormani. O interesse por Mourinho também foi criticado pelo jornalista. Atualmente, Jorge Jesus é a prioridade da CBF, que tem conversas com o português ex-Flamengo. Entretanto, ainda esbarra na multa para tira-lo do time árabe.
“O Rizek informou que a CBF está de olho em Jorge Jesus, Ancelotti, Mourinho e Abel Ferreira. Mourinho? Pelo amor de Deus”, analisou Sormani.

O Brasil volta a campo no início de junho para a penúltima data-Fifa de Eliminatórias da Copa do Mundo 2026. A seleção brasileira enfrenta o Equador, no dia 05, fora de casa. Logo depois, no dia 10, recebe o Paraguai. A ideia da CBF é já ter o treinador contratado até as partidas.
