Felipão não economizou elogios a dois dos grandes goleiros do futebol brasileiro. Em entrevista para a Placar TV, inicialmente exaltou Marcos, seu titular na campanha do pentacampeonato da seleção brasileira na Copa do Mundo de 2002.
Luiz Felipe Scolari reforçou que Marcos foi ganhando confiança no Palmeiras a partir de 1997, se consolidando na campanha do título da Libertadores de 1999.
Felipão definiu Dida como um goleiro especialista em pênaltis
Mesmo que São Marcos tenha sido o herói palmeirense na decisão por pênaltis contra o Deportivo Cali e também diante do Corinthians na semifinal do ano seguinte, o técnico ainda colocou Dida na frente de Marcos no quesito.
“O Dida era mais… dificultava mais o adversário. Mas o Marcos sempre se posicionou muito bem naquelas penalidades”, comentou o treinador veterano, que enalteceu o histórico arqueiro. “Um espetáculo, goleiro maravilhoso, muito bom”, exaltou Felipão.
Elogios a Alex, que ficou fora da Copa do Mundo 2002
Outro nome fundamental do Palmeiras no fim dos anos 90 era Alex, que também enalteceu Dida em entrevista para Milton Neves.
Mesmo que o camisa 10 tenha sido decisivo na conquista da primeira Libertadores alviverde, Luiz Felipe Scolari optou por deixar o meia de fora do Mundial de 2002.
Ainda assim, o treinador não economizou elogios para o ex-meio-campista, recordando a parceria de Alex com Zinho no setor.
“Era uma característica de muita criatividade e ele chegava muito à frente com qualidade. Então, eu fazia com que o Alex se colocasse perto do atacante que nós tínhamos e o Zinho ficasse um pouco mais fechado, fazendo uma função mais de armação, mais de defesa, mais de compor a equipe, ali quando a outra equipe tivesse com a bola. E o Alex mais livre, sentiu à vontade e deslanchou”, avaliou.
