Ein neuer Angreifer für Manchester United?
Seit Jahren versucht der englische Rekordmeister, einen echten Knipser für das Sturmzentrum zu finden. Erst im vergangenen Sommer wurde Ex-Bayern-Kicker Joshua Zirkzee (23) für 42,5 Millionen Euro aus Bologna geholt.
Doch der Holländer floppte, konnte in 46 Pflichtspielen bislang lediglich sechs Treffer erzielen. Kein Wunder, dass sich ManUnited nach Alternativen umschaut. Und offenbar einen Wunschkandidaten ausgemacht hat!

Der Sohn von Ex-Profi Rory Delap (48/359 Premier-League-Spiele für Derby County, Southampton, Sunderland und Stoke City) war erst im letzten Juli für 17,85 Mio. Euro von Manchester Citys Reserve zum Aufsteiger gewechselt.
In seiner ersten Ipswich-Spielzeit startete der englische U21-Nationalspieler durch, traf bislang zwölfmal in 30 Liga-Einsätzen.

Dem Bericht zufolge soll Delap auf dem ManUnited-Wunschzettel sogar noch über Kandidaten wie Victor Osimhen (26/von Neapel an Galatasaray ausgeliehen), Viktor Gyökeres (26/Sporting Lissabon) und Benjamin Sesko (21/RB Leipzig) stehen.
Einer der Gründe: die mögliche Ablöse!
Sollte Ipswich absteigen, kann Delap den Verein für 40 Millionen Pfund (rund 46,6 Mio. Euro) verlassen. Bei sieben verbleibenden Spielen und zwölf Punkten Rückstand auf das rettende Ufer scheint dieses Szenario fast unvermeidbar.
Delap (Marktwert laut „transfermarkt.de“ bei 35 Mio. Euro) wäre in diesem Fall wohl deutlich preiswerter als Osimhen, Gyökeres oder Sesko. Was ManUnited und dem neu auferlegten Sparkurs entgegenkäme.
Auch Chelsea soll ihn auf dem Zettel haben. Dem Bericht zufolge verfügt ManCity über eine Rückkaufklausel, die ebenfalls bei rund 46,6 Mio. Euro liegt. Dass sein Ex-Klub Delap zurückholt, ist aber nahezu ausgeschlossen.
Im Sturmzentrum des England-Meisters ist Erling Haaland (24) gesetzt. Erst im Januar verlängerte der Norweger seinen Vertrag bis 2034. Wahrscheinlicher also, dass Delap im kommenden Jahr für den Stadt-Rivalen aufläuft …
