Much has changed since Dak Prescott made his NFL debut back in the distant year of 2016. At that time, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback claimed the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, but a lot has shifted as he approaches what will be his tenth season in the league.

In what many consider the most critical position in football, Prescott has honed a skill that transcends mere athleticism.

A teammate speaks on Dak Prescott’s most powerful weapon

The quarterback of Jerry Jones’ team has proven he possesses remarkable command of the squad on the field, excelling at directing the offense pre-snap. In this regard, he’s made tremendous strides, earning praise even from a legendary figure like Aaron Rodgers.

Now, one of his teammates has stepped forward with a glowing tribute to Prescott. Tyler Guyton, a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma and an offensive tackle, remarked that the QB’s mind “works like a machine.”

Guyton also shared that he had long dreamed of being part of the offense led by Prescott. He revealed this on The KnoItAllz Podcast, though it’s worth noting that the two didn’t share much field time last season due to Prescott’s hamstring injury. Even so, Guyton was left in awe of what he witnessed from a season prior, when Prescott finished as the NFL MVP runner-up after throwing for 4,516 yards and 36 touchdown passes.

The Cowboys are banking on Prescott staying healthy and returning to his elite form. Guyton, who faced some challenges as a left tackle during his rookie season, will be a pivotal figure in achieving that goal. If he can effectively shield No. 4, it would go a long way toward enabling Prescott to keep showcasing his remarkable football IQ on the field.

Now, the question remains: if Dak Prescott can stay healthy throughout the season, and see what might he achieve alongside Guyton and the full arsenal of talent surrounding him.

NFL teams trimmed their respective rosters from 90 players down to the 53-man active limit on Tuesday. In the wake of those moves, several players involved in those roster cuts will return or sign with practice squads elsewhere. Each team is allowed to construct a 17-player practice squad, including 10 first- or second-year players, up to six veterans with extensive NFL experience, and one spot allocated for the International Pathway Program. These units are fluid and can change on a daily basis. Each week during the regular season, teams have the opportunity to elevate up to two practice squad players, but players may not be elevated more than three separate weeks during the season without being elevated to the 53-man roster. Players have freedom of choice beyond waivers. For example, Broncos quarterback Sam Ehlinger is reportedly electing to return to Denver's practice squad […]
