Spieler, Trainer, Bosse – So viel Macht hat Hoeneß bei Bayern wirklich

Die Situation war für beide Gäste unangenehm. Als Max Eberl (51) das Wohnzimmer von Uli Hoeneß (73) betrat, saß dort schon auf der Couch: Hasan Salihamidzic (48). Eine Erklärung für das Aufeinandertreffen des damaligen Sportvorstands Salihamidzic und Eberl, den Hoeneß ursprünglich für den Posten vorgesehen hatte, im Haus des Klub-Patrons am Tegernsee gab es nicht. Angeblich Zufall. Wer Hoeneß kennt, weiß, dass hinter Zufällen dieser Art meistens ein Plan steht. War es eine Warnung an Salihamidzic? Oder ein Signal an Eberl, mit dem sich Hoeneß bereits seit Monaten im Hintergrund über eine mögliche zukünftige Funktion im Klub regelmäßig ausgetauscht hatte? Was für beides spricht: Am 27. Mai 2023 wurde Salihamidzic als Sportchef beim FC Bayern entlassen. Sein Nachfolger: Eberl.

Hoeneß schafft gerne Tatsachen im Alleingang, die im Klub Dinge in Bewegung setzen, aber auch ins Chaos stürzen können. Am Ende zählt das Ergebnis: Es passiert meist so, wie Hoeneß es will. So wie auch im Fall Thomas Müller (35). Mit seinem Auftritt bei der Film-Premiere der Müller-Doku „Einer wie keiner“, in dem er dem Protagonisten des Abends mehrmals in TV-Kameras nahelegte, seine Karriere zu beenden, weil seine aktuelle Joker-Rolle „unwürdig“ sei, trat Hoeneß die mediale Lawine los, die Eberl nicht mehr aufhalten konnte und die ihn als verantwortlichen Sportvorstand beschädigte.

So viel Macht hat Hoeneß bei Bayern wirklich

Die langjährigen Verdienste von Hoeneß für den FC Bayern sind unumstritten. Seit der Rückkehr des Patrons in den Klub nach seiner Haft wegen Steuerhinterziehung und Entlassung im Februar 2016 stellt sich immer öfter die Frage: Hilft oder schadet Hoeneß mit seinen Aktionen dem FC Bayern? Der Klub ist gespalten. So gibt es sogar zum verbalen Tiefschlag auf Müllers Filmpremiere im Verein durchaus die Meinung: Hoeneß hätte hier das ausgesprochen, was Eberl vorher versäumt hatte.

„Ich glaube, dass Uli Hoeneß dem FC Bayern immer geholfen hat und helfen wird, er hat den Verein aufgebaut“, sagt Lothar Matthäus (64), Ex-Bayern-Spieler und Sky-Experte. „Was schadet, sind seine Kommentare nach außen: Sie liegen ihm auf der Zunge, und Uli kann sich dann einfach nicht zurückhalten. Er wollte damit immer das Beste für den Verein, hat dem FC Bayern aber auch häufiger geschadet. Seine Kommentare und die folgenden Schlagzeilen haben oft für Unruhe gesorgt.“

[–>Karrieren über den Kopf anderer zu beenden hat bei Hoeneß Tradition. Dabei macht er auch nicht vor der Chef-Etage halt.

Hoeneß und Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (69) sitzen heute als Entscheider gemeinsam im Aufsichtsrat. Rummenigge erst seit Mai 2023. Im Zuge der Entlassung des Vorstandschefs Oliver Kahn (55) kehrte er im gleichen Monat zurück in den Klub. Als klar war, dass Rummenigge als Bayern-­CEO aufhören würde, weihte Hoeneß nur Präsident Herbert Hainer (70) in seine Überlegungen mit Kahn als dessen Nachfolger ein und zog das dann auch durch.

Mit der Art und Weise, wie Kahn den FC Bayern führte, war Hoeneß jedoch nicht einverstanden. Der Patron beklagte öffentlich, dass dieser ihn in dessen Amtszeit nur fünfmal angerufen habe. Die Folge: Kahn musste gehen. Dafür nahm Hoeneß auch in Kauf, dass sein Freund und Sportvorstand Salihamidzic entlassen wurde. Rummenigge, den Hoeneß zur Rückkehr drängte, galt als großer Salihamidzic-Kritiker. Im Klub wurde der Brazzo-Rauswurf von einigen Verantwortlichen als Zugeständnis für das Kahn-Aus gewertet. Kahn wie auch Eberl sind Hoeneß-Personalien, er hat sie in den Klub geholt.

„Sein Verhalten bei Kahn und Eberl zeigt ja, dass sich Uli Fehler eingesteht, die er gemacht hat“, sagt Matthäus zu den Paral­lelen. „Ich glaube, Uli Hoeneß hatte mehr erwartet von Max Eberl – oder zumindest ein anderes Vorgehen. Uli hat Eberl mit seinen Aussagen zu Müller angezählt, danach musste Max nun öffentlich zurückrudern. Das hat Uli sicher abgespeichert.“ Für denjenigen, der in der sportlichen Verantwortung bei Bayern ist – sei es Salihamidzic oder Eberl –, ist es schwer: Hoeneß hat zu allem eine klare Meinung, ist jedoch vom Trainingsplatz oder dem Tagesgeschäft ein ganzes Stück weit weg. Das betont der Ober-Boss auch selbst.

Wie gefährlich eine Hoeneß-Unzufriedenheit ist, bekam auch Thomas Tuchel (51) zu spüren. Zum Amtsantritt machte es der Coach geschickt, als er betonte, er habe Hoeneß versichert, dass er auf dessen FC Bayern aufpassen werde. Die Botschaft kam gut an. Hoeneß verteidigte anfangs den Coach, eilte sogar für einen öffentlichkeitswirksamen Auftritt während des Trainings zu Tuchel auf den Rasen. Als der Trainer aber in Transfer-Fragen eine kontroverse Haltung zu Hoeneß einnahm, kühlte das Verhältnis schnell ab. Sogar eine Aussprache war nötig, nachdem Hoeneß im TV erzählt hatte, die Entlassung von Tuchel-Vorgänger Julian Nagelsmann (37) sei ein Fehler gewesen. Nach Tuchels Rauswurf ließ Hoeneß wissen, dass der Trainer „eine Katastrophe“ für den Verein gewesen sei.

Zuletzt machten Gerüchte den Umlauf, dass der FC Bayern sowohl an Ralf Rangnick (66), Nationaltrainer von Österreich, als auch Mario ­Gomez (39), Technischer Direktor von Red Bull, Interesse für eine Führungsfunktion habe. Auffällig ist, dass Hoeneß in seinem Umfeld seit Monaten sowohl von der Arbeit von Rangnick als auch von Gomez schwärmt. Beide Personalien würden auf Kosten von Eberl gehen.
