Mit vier Siegen in Folge entschied Berlin das Halbfinale gegen Mannheim für. Machtdemonstration des Titelverteidigers.
Die erste Sturmformation der Berliner mit Ronning (23. Spiel in Serie gepunktet – Rekord ausgebaut), Pföderl und Tiffels marschierte. Das Trio kommt beim 6:2 allein auf vier Treffer (Tiffels 2, Ronning und Pföderl je 1). Hinzu kommen noch zwei sehr wichtige Tore von Lean Bergmann.
Leo Pföderl bei MagentaSport: „Es hat von vorn bis hinten alles gepasst und wir können sehr zufrieden sein. Keiner hätte vorher geglaubt, dass wir gegen Mannheim mit 4:0-Siegen durchmarschieren.“

Mannheimer schafft nur vier Tore in der Serie
Die hoch dotierte Mannheimer Mannschaft enttäuschte nicht nur die 13.068 Fans in der SAP Arena – sondern sicher auch sich selbst. Vier Tore in vier Spielen reichen einfach nicht zum Weiterkommen. Die Neuzugänge Michaelis, Reichel oder Fohrler konnten gegen die flinken und enorm torgefährlichen Berliner nichts ausrichten. Fohrler war in Spiel 4 nicht einmal mehr im Kader.
[–>Es ist nun schon der 12. Sieg in Serie gegen die Kurpfälzer. Auch ein Riesen-Verdienst von Trainer Serge Aubin und Sportchef Stephane Richer, der das Team zusammenstellte. Der Coach: „Es war unser bestes Spiel der Serie, ich bin unglaublich stolz auf meine Jungs.“
Die Eisbären schicken die Adler am Ende mit einer brutal effizienten Leistung in den Urlaub. Der Finalgegner steht noch nicht fest, wird zwischen Ingolstadt und Köln (Stand 1:3) ermittelt.
