With Quinn Ewers officially out of the picture, Arch Manning’s long-awaited moment at Texas is finally in the horizon.
After two years of biding his time on the bench, Manning is now preparing to lead the Longhorns as the starting quarterback. His journey, one marked by patience, resilience, and loyalty, is quickly becoming a standout storyline ahead of the 2025 college football season.

Manning, a former five-star recruit and third-generation quarterback from football royalty, could’ve easily taken his talents elsewhere.
Instead, he remained steadfast, honoring his childhood dream of donning the burnt orange.
Now, just months away from the season opener against Ohio State, the 19-year-old is embracing his transition from backup to centerpiece.
“It was tough. It’s tough in this age. I hope it pays off,”Manning said in a recent interview with InsideTexas.
“There’s nowhere else I want to be. I want to be at Texas. I have friends here. I love this place. I wanted to be the quarterback here. Sometimes it’s worth the wait.”
Manning’s early flashes of brilliance, including a 5-touchdown performance against UTSA and solid starts versus UL Monroe and Mississippi State, proved he could deliver when called upon.
Across limited action last season, he threw for 939 yards with 9 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions, building a foundation for what could be a breakout campaign.
Despite interest from other programs and lucrative opportunities elsewhere, Manning never wavered.
His choice to stay speaks not only to his commitment but also to his maturity-traits NFL scouts are already taking note of.
His poised approach to life in the spotlight adds another layer to his growing brand.
“I can’t quit doing normal things,”Manning added.
“I’m going to go eat dinner with my buddies and be a normal college kid.”
With his NIL valuation estimated at $6.5 million and new partnerships like the one with clothing brand Vuori, Manning’s off-field presence continues to grow alongside his on-field potential.
But for now, his focus remains locked on leading the Longhorns into a new era, one that starts with him.
