„Maruška začala výborně. Ona nemá hru, že by přišla a rozstřílela soupeřku. Musí si to uhrát, nebo počkat, až soupeřka odpadne. Ve druhém setu byla vidět malinko obava, ale nakonec dala fantastické podání za stavu 5:3 v tie breaku, v té nejdůležitější chvíli,“ potěšilo kapitána v souboji s Laurou Pigossiovou.
A pak už se konal servírovací festival Noskové v zápase s Beatriz Haddadovou Maiaovou „Linda hrála brutálně,“ vystihla výkon české jedničky debutantka Tereza Valentová. „Jakmile ji brejkla, tak byla vepředu a hnala ji. Taky mě Linda překvapila, jak returnovala, hodně toho vrátila. No a super to doservírovala. Na Beatriz bylo vidět, jak je pod tlakem, protože Linda výborně podává, soupeřka to měla při svém servisu o dost složitější,“ souhlasil Pála.
Vzhledem k důležitosti zápasového skóre a poměru setů poslal i do čtyřhry týmovou jedničku Noskovou a vedle ni k velké premiéře teenagerku Valentovou. „Deblu jsem se hodně obával, tam bylo vidět proč. Haddadová se po té prohrané dvouhře hrozně zvedla a (Luisa) Stefaniová ukazovala holkám, jak vypadá čtyřhra,“ řekl kapitán.

Pro novicku Valentovou měl ale jen samé pochvaly. „Terka hrála výborně, zkazila sice na začátku dva voleje, ale tou rychlostí a servisem to byl dobrý debl. Stefaniová ale hodně míčů u sítě vrátí. Na holku, co hraje jen čtyřhru, jí taky hodně letí i servis,“ všímal si Pála. „Brazilky se rvaly, aby měly ještě šanci na postup, ale ze strany Terezy to byla nejlepší prohraná premiéra v soutěži, co si pamatuju…“
Teď má kapitán pátek na to, aby podumal o složení deblu i na zápas se Španělskem, které do Ostravy přijelo s bronzovými medailistkami z olympijské čtyřhry Cristinou Bucsaovou a Sarou Sorribesovou.
„V Paříži vycvičily Káju (Muchovou) s Lindou (6:2, 6:2 v zápase o 3. místo), ale to se hrálo na antuce,“ přemítal Pála.
Ideální by samozřejmě bylo, pokud by Češky už bod ze sobotního deblu vůbec nepotřebovaly.
