Im Podcast „Rio Ferdinand Presents“ des Ex-England-Verteidigers sprach Yaya Touré (41) über seine Zeit bei Barcelona.
„In den ersten Monaten schien Ronaldinho im Training ein ganz normaler Teamkollege zu sein“, sagte Touré, der 2007 von der AS Monaco zu Barça wechselte. Doch eines Tages sei der brasilianische Superstar völlig verändert zum Training gekommen.
Plötzlich habe er sich Touré vorgeknöpft: „Sei bloß vorsichtig, Yaya. Wenn du in meine Nähe kommst, mache ich dich zum Gespött“, so Touré. „Ich dachte, er macht einen Scherz – aber immer, wenn ich mich nahe kam, tunnelte er mich!“
Von 2011 bis 2014 wurde Yaya Touré zu Afrikas Fußballer des Jahres gewählt. Hier 2008 im Champions-League-Duell mit dem Schalke-Torwart Manuel Neuer (heute 39)

Als Touré zur Mannschaft stieß, war die große Zeit von Ronaldinho (spielte dort von 2003 bis 2008) im Klub bereits vorbei. 2008 wechselte er zu AC Milan.
Touré machte 118 Spiele für die Katalanen, gewann 2009 die Champions League. Drei Jahre später verließ er den Klub, gelangte für eine Ablöse von 30 Millionen Euro zu Manchester City. Dort spielte er acht Jahre.
[–>Nach seiner aktiven Zeit wurde Touré Trainer. Erst Jugendcoach bei Tottenham Hotspur, dann Assistenzcoach bei Standard Lüttich. Seit November 2023 ist er Co-Trainer der Nationalmannschaft von Saudi-Arabien.
