Seine Zukunft schien eigentlich schon geklärt – doch jetzt kommt womöglich alles anders!
Jonathan Tah wird Meister Bayer Leverkusen nach der Saison verlassen. Sein Vertrag endet im Juni, er ist ablösefrei. Seine Wechsel-Absicht hatte der Nationalspieler den Verantwortlichen des Werkklubs bereits mitgeteilt. Doch jetzt hakt es!
Barça kann sich Tah nicht leisten
Denn: Barça kann sich Tah, der bei den Spaniern weit über zehn Mio. Euro Gehalt im Jahr kassieren sollte, im Moment schlichtweg nicht leisten. Wie die spanische Zeitung „Sport“ berichtet, haben die Barcelona-Bosse Tahs Berater Pini Zahavi bei einem Treffen mitgeteilt, dass man den Verteidiger aktuell nicht verpflichten könne.

Im Februar titelten die spanischen Zeitungen noch: „Tah hat sich für Barça entschieden“. Demnach wolle der deutsche Nationalspieler unbedingt nach Spanien zum Team von Ex-Bundestrainer Hansi Flick wechseln.
Doch nun anscheinend die Wende.
Barça ist seit Jahren in finanziellen Schwierigkeiten, hoch verschuldet. Das bereitet immer wieder Probleme neue Stars zu verpflichten – und vor allem dann auch für den Spielbetrieb registrieren zu können. Wie zuletzt bei Dani Olmo.
Dieses Szenario wolle Tah unbedingt verhindern, heißt es. Daher wolle der Leverkusen-Star bis spätestens Mai Klarheit von Barça, ob seine Registrierung ohne Probleme klappen werde. Doch das können die Katalanen ihm aktuell nicht garantieren. Eine Verpflichtung wackele daher, so der Bericht. Barça hat einfache keinen finanziellen Spielraum bei der Gehaltsobergrenze. Um Tah zu holen, müssen also erst Spieler verkauft oder neue Millionen generiert werden.
Neue Hoffnung für Leverkusen?
Die Bayer-Bosse haben immer gehofft, bei Tah in Sachen Vertragsverlängerung noch einmal den Fuß in die Tür zu bekommen. Ist jetzt die Gelegenheit dafür?

Aber die Konkurrenz ist groß. Neben Barça sollen vor allem Klubs aus der englischen Premier League Interesse am National-Verteidiger zeigen. Und: Tahs Traum-Ziel war ursprünglich immer England.
Auch Barça wolle Tah nicht aufgeben, heißt es weiter. Denn er gilt als Wunschspieler von Flick. Muss dieser Traum aber vorerst begraben werden?
