Princess Diana’s final bodyguard reveals her heartfelt warning for Prince Harry

Princess Diana‘s tragic death in a 1997 Paris car crash remains one of the most heart-wrenching moments in modern history, but her former bodyguard is now shedding light on what she might say to her son, Prince Harry, if she’d survived. Ken Wharfe, who protected Diana from 1987 to 1993 spoke out, reflecting on the late princess’s deep love for her boys and her fears for their future. With Harry navigating a complex life in Montecito, Wharfe’s insights into Diana’s potential warning carry a poignant weight, especially as the Duke of Sussex faces ongoing scrutiny.

Wharfe, who was with Diana during her most turbulent years, believes she’d be devastated by Harry’s rift with Prince William and the royal family. “She would have been heartbroken over the feuding,” he told RadarOnline, imagining Diana urging Harry to mend ties.

Lethal stare! King Charles glares at ‘Princess Diana’ shout

Her warning would be: ‘Don’t let this family split tear you apart-find a way back to your brother.‘” Diana’s dream was for her sons to remain close, a bond she nurtured through trips like their 1994 Alton Towers outing, where Wharfe saw her joy in their laughter.

The bodyguard recalls Diana’s protective streak, especially toward Harry, whom she called “her little soldier.” Wharfe says she’d caution him against isolating himself in California, far from his roots. “She’d tell him, ‘You’re stronger together-don’t lose your family,'” he shared, noting Diana’s own struggles with royal life made her empathetic but firm about unity. Harry’s 2023 memoir Spare and Netflix series laid bare his pain, moves Wharfe thinks Diana would’ve advised against, fearing they’d deepen the divide.

How Diana would guide Prince Harry

Wharfe also believes Diana would worry about Harry’s security, a sore point since he stepped back from royal duties in 2020. “She’d be saying, ‘Keep yourself safe, Harry-don’t take risks,‘” he added, referencing her own battles with paparazzi, which ended in that fatal crash. Diana’s only survivor, bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones, suffered severe injuries, a reminder of the dangers she faced. Wharfe insists Diana would push Harry to prioritize Archie and Lilibet’s safety amid his legal battles over U.K. protection.

Her love for charity would also shape her advice. “Diana would tell Harry, ‘Use your platform for good, like I did,'” Wharfe said, pointing to her AIDS and landmine work. With Harry’s Invictus Games thriving-he visited Ukraine’s war victims on April 7-Wharfe thinks she’d be proud but nudge him to heal family wounds to amplify his impact. Her voice, through Wharfe’s lens, feels as vivid as ever.
