I se starší ze sesterského dua Fruhvirtových by Češky patrně svou letošní misi na finálový turnaj do Šen-čenu nedotáhly. Start devatenáctileté Lindy F. na kvalifikaci turnaje v Rouen právě ve chvíli, kdy její krajanky marně bojovaly o postup, ale rozpoložení v české šatně rozhodně nepřidal.
Předseda svazu Jakub Kotrba hovořil o šoku, kapitán Petr Pála o zklamání. Když během týdne vysvětloval omluvenku po omluvence, jaké důvody vedly jednotlivé hráčky k neúčasti v týmu, mluvil o absenci Fruhvirtových s pochopením. O ‚vážných rodinných důvodech‘ se dozvěděl od otce tenistek Hynka.
O to větší rozčarování pak v českém týmu zavládlo, když hráčka nastoupila během víkendu na antuce ve Francii. Vždyť to byl právě Pála, který Lindu do týmu nominoval už jako šestnáctiletou na pražskou kvalifikaci proti Velké Británii v roce 2022 a dokonce jí umožnil ostrý debut, i když měl v týmu mnohem zkušenější tenistky.
Dlouhé roky se o sestrách Fruhvirtových nejen v Česku mluvilo jako o ‚nových Williamsových‘. Byla jim prorokována oslnivá budoucnost. Ovšem jejich progres se v minulém roce výrazně zadrhnul. Mladší Brenda (18) po Wimbledonu odehrála do konce sezony jen čtyři zápasy na menších akcích a všechny prohrála. Na Australian Open sice naskočila do kvalifikace, ale nyní zase nehraje a kolem otázek proč tomu tak je, se rojí fantastické historky.
O rok starší Linda, jež loni prohrála šedesát procent svých utkání, ovšem zase nahodila motory v Miami a na menším turnaji v Mexiku. Letos má bilanci 15:8. A vzhledem k neúčasti Karolíny Muchové, Markéty Vondroušové, Barbory Krejčíkové, Kateřiny Siniakové a nijak ideální formě Marie Bouzkové klidně v Ostravě mohla hrát. I když je 161. na světě.
Kdo ale zná situaci v rodinném týmu Fruhvirtových, tak ví, že dění v českém tenisu pro něj není prioritní. Na druhou stranu k nadějným juniorkám v Česku plynou přes svazovou pokladnu státní peníze na přípravu, trenéry, cestování. A nejde o žádné diety v řádu stokorun, ale o statisícové částky. Na podpoře sester se navíc prostřednictvím Olympu podílí také ministerstvo vnitra.
Dřívější tenisové generace často reprezentovaly na úkor vlastních kariér. Teď už svaz nikoho nosit národní dres nenutí. Rozčarovaný kapitán Pála přes veškeré zklamání z absence loajality řekl, že v budoucnu před nikým při dalších nominacích nebude zabouchávat dveře. Ale určitě by si zasloužil vysvětlení. A nejen on.
