Trotz der bitteren Hinspiel-Klatsche blickt Dortmunds Trainer Niko Kovac (53) kämpferisch nach vorn: „Wir sind Realisten. Das Ziel wäre natürlich, das Spiel zu gewinnen. Der 42-Jährige ist seit 2019 Fifa-Schiedsrichter, hat bereits zwölf Partien in der Königsklasse geleitet – darunter auch ein erfolgreiches BVB-Spiel: 2022 gewann Dortmund unter seiner Leitung mit 4:1 beim FC Sevilla. Immerhin ein Ergebnis, das dem nahekommt, was es nun bräuchte, um gegen Barça weiterzukommen.
Ein Strohhalm? Vielleicht. Aber auf genau solche Geschichten hofft Fußball-Deutschland am Dienstagabend.
