Reports indicate that the long-awaited occasion could finally arise when the two greatest players in contemporary football are together in the same team for the delight of fans, who regardless of whether they are on one side or the other, will witness a true milestone in the sport.
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have met on the pitch many times, but always on opposing teams, so the mere possibility of them wearing the same jersey has become a long-held desire for soccer fans.
Lionel Messi breaks protocol and debuts a new look in true soccer superhero style
Well, that wish could soon come true thanks to an Argentine, a very important soccer player who coincided with the ‘Flea’ in the Argentine national team and who, like him, made history in European soccer, to retire at the age of 39 in 2022
“I have both of them on my WhatsApp”
Carlos Tevez, the famous ‘Apache’ is the one who could finally bring together the two great emblems of world football, in his farewell match, as he has stated that he wants them both on the pitch for the occasion.
This is what Tevez said for the famous ‘Olga’ podcast: “I will probably do it. We just have to see when. It’s not easy. Leo Messi, Cristiano… we’re going to bring them. In fact, I’ll go and get them myself. I have them saved in my WhatsApp,” said a very optimistic ‘Apache’.
Tevez also mentioned great footballers with whom he shared a dressing room at Manchester United and Juventus such as Edwin Van der Sar, Gianluigi Buffon, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, Patrice Evra, Andrea Pirlo, Paul Scholes, Juan Roman Riquelme and Wayne Rooney, among others.
Messi vs. Cristiano Ronaldo
Messi and Cristiano have faced each other in 36 official matches so far, and the Argentine leads the victories over the Portuguese with 16 to 11, and on nine occasions they have drawn the teams for which they played, mostly in LaLiga with Barcelona and Real Madrid. Likewise, Messi also leads the scoring with 22 goals to 21 for Cristiano.
They say that ‘promising does not impoverish’, so we can only cross our fingers that Tevez’s efforts will bear fruit.
