Eisenach blamiert sich gegen Kellerkind Erlangen – und die Franken schöpfen im Abstiegskampf der Handball-Bundesliga neue Hoffnung.
Am Gründonnerstag kam der ThSV vor 2800 Zuschauern in der ausverkauften Werner-Assmann-Halle gegen den HC Erlangen nicht über ein 26:26 (13:12)-Unentschieden heraus.
Grgic mit zwei schnellen Zeitstrafen
Eisenach ging zwar 0:1 in Rückstand, zeigte sich dann aber konzentriert in der Abwehr und treffsicher im Angriff. Nach 20 Minuten markierte Ivan Snajder das 10:7. Der ThSV schien auf der Siegerstraße.
Dann aber kam es zum Bruch im ThSV-Spiel, die Erlanger nutzten dies zu einem 4:0-Lauf, den ihr bester Werfer Viggo Kristjansson – der am Ende 14 Tore erzielte – zum 11:10 die Gäste krönte. Immerhin: Danach waren die Gastgeber wieder wach, erspielten sich zur Pause eine 13:12-Führung. Schon da ein Nachteil für den ThSV: Marko Grgic handelte sich zwei Zeitstrafen ein, wurde danach defensiv kaum mehr eingesetzt.
[–>Das zeigte sich nach dem Seitenwechsel, da waren die Gastgeber völlig von der Rolle. Die technischen Fehler häuften sich. Erlangen selbst zeigte keinen Zauberhandball, eine dürftige Leistung reichte, um auf 21:18 davonzuziehen (45.).

In der Crunchtime wurde es dann so richtig heiß: Eisenach kam in Unterzahl durch Fynn Hangstein auf 22:23 heran (53.), Ivan Snaijder erzielte sogar den Ausgleich zum 24:24 (56.). Das Spiel kippte wieder zugunsten des ThSV, als zunächst Erlangens Nicolai Link nach Foul an Grigc mit Rot vom Parkett musste (57.), dann Philipp Meyer mit einer Bogenlampe aus der eigenen Hälfte die Führung markierte (26:25) und Matija Spikic im Anschluss eine Monsterparade zeigte.
Doch das Schlusswort hatte Erlangen: Kristjansson erzielte den nicht unverdienten 26:26-Auslgeich. Und Eisenach schluderte beim letzten Angriff.
Eisenach bekommt die Lizenz ohne Auflagen
Gute Neuigkeiten gab es vor den Anpfiff: Der ThSV Eisenach erhielt die Lizenz für die nächste Saison. Und das zum zweiten Mal ohne Auflagen. „Insbesondere freut es mich für die Sponsoren, die uns so den Rücken gestärkt haben“, sagt ThSV-Boss René Witte.
