Dieses Spiel in der Handball-Bundesliga wird wohl als eines der verrücktesten und kuriosesten Begegnungen in die Geschichte eingehen.
Das Keller-Duell des VfL Potsdam gegen die HSG Wetzlar (32:28) brachte am Ende vier Rote Karten. Eine davon erhielt Potsdam-Trainer Emir Kurtagic. Wobei: Dafür mussten die Schiedsrichter zunächst mal in das Regelwerk schauen.

Denn es war eine Situation, die in der 54. Spielminute (Potsdam führte 27:21) so gar nicht alltäglich war. Der Gastgeber war im Angriff, als Maxim Orlov den Ball verlor und die Mittelhessen zu einem Tempogegenstoß ansetzten. Der wurde durch den Auszeit-Buzzer jedoch unterbrochen.

Gedrückt hatte ihn Kurtagic. Was er aber nur bei eigenem Ballbesitz hätte machen dürfen. Dafür war er wegen des überraschenden Ballverlustes jedoch eine Millisekunde zu spät dran. Klar war nun, dass eine Strafe folgt – ein Siebenmeter für die Gäste, wegen der Vereitelung einer klaren Torchance.
