V první třetině druhého finále v Pardubicích ho nešlo přehlédnout. Pomohla tomu našitá jmenovka na zádech i skvělý pohyb, díky kterému se dostal do dvou šancí. Svůj minipříběh přitom Ferda začal psát až v semifinále proti Spartě. Minuty dostával sporadické, ale i jeho zátěž postupem série rostla.
„V první lize mám na všechno více času, tady dostanete setinu na odehrání puku,“ vnímal Ferda největší rozdíl oproti Maxa lize. Ta pro něj i jeho Třebíč skončila neslavně. Horácká Slavia ve čtvrtfinále nestačila na svého největšího rivala Jihlavu, se kterou padla 1:3 na zápasy.

A tak Ferda vstřebával zklamání. Den, dva, tři. Pak se podíval na telefon a uviděl číslo brněnského kouče Pokorného. „Ptal se mě, jestli neposílím mančaft, ale jasně mi řekl, že začnu jako čtrnáctý, patnáctý útočník a uvidí se. V play off zkrátka přichází zranění, takže jsem dostal šanci a snažil se ji využít,“ popisoval Ferda, jak se zrodil jeho povolávací rozkaz do extraligy.
Pokorný dobře věděl, pro jakého hráče sahá. V základní části si ho třikrát vyzkoušel, ale především Ferdu sám v předchozích třech letech vedl v Třebíči. „Asi mi pomohlo, že mě zná. Ví, jakým stylem hraju, mně se zase líbí jeho systém. Vyžaduje zodpovědnost, žádný bláznivý hokej. To mi sedí. Děkuji mu, že mě sem vůbec vytáhl. Dělám teď víc rozhovorů než za celou svoji kariéru. Za tento příběh jsem moc rád,“ vyprávěl útočník, jenž letos v Třebíči zaznamenal 25 bodů (8+17).

Na svůj premiérový v Kometě stále čeká. Jeho úkoly na ledě jsou však přeci jen jiné. V pátek však ve třetí formaci nahradil zraněného Kristiána Pospíšila. V sestavě velmi pravděpodobně nebude chybět ani při odvetách v brněnském Rondu, kde se hraje v pondělí a úterý.
„Rád bych, aby se na mě přišli podívat známí, ale dostáváme jen dva lístky na hlavu, takže jsem rád, že může jít aspoň přítelkyně. Ale hraje se finále, tak holt lístky rychle mizí,“ usmíval se Ferda.
