The second season of ‘The Last of Us’ is giving a lot to talk about. Viewers who have not played the video game are discovering the story and the new characters that emerge in it, such as those infected by Cordyceps, the stalker.
They have been infected for less than a year and retain some intelligence, so they hide and stalk their victims. But what many are wondering is why Ellie cuts herself when she is bitten by one of them, if she is supposed to be immune to the disease.

This occurs in the first episode, ‘The Days to Come’, where Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and Dina (Isabela Merced) see these stalkers for the first time on a mission outside the walls of Jackson. Her cuts are due to trying to prevent the others from doubting her again, having to be scientifically studied again.
The creators have already warned of the new developments in ‘TLOU 2’
The creators of the series, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, have already talked about this type of novelty, as they are not the only ones that fans will see in this second season: “We talked a lot about how to create a world where the characters felt really safe with the infected.”“If the fear reaction was the same as in the first season, it would mean that they haven’t learned anything in five years,” Mazin explained. “These humans have gotten pretty good at solving the infected problem. They feel so good about themselves that Ellie and Dina have no problem going into a supermarket and facing them. But this one is different.”
For his part, Druckmann maintains: “The stalker, of course, is an evolution of the character in the video game, and they wanted to highlight the fact that they think and that is a huge problem. It’s terrifying. Even the way they sound, that sadness and that humanity that’s still there. They still have intellect”.

The star was Jeffery Simmons, who placed ninth in PFF overall grade and racked up 45 pressures. Second-round rookie T'Vondre Sweat turned in an excellent 75.0 PFF run-defense grade, placing him ninth among qualified interior defenders.
