Die Woche der Wahrheit begann bei den Füchsen mit einer Mini-Powerpoint-Präsentation: Sportvorstand Stefan Kretzschmar (52) stellte sich vor seine Handball-Profis.
„Am Montag habe ich unseren Trainer erstmals gebeten, mit seinem Laptop die Tabelle an die Wand zu werfen. Meine Botschaft: Diesen ersten Platz haben wir nicht geschenkt bekommen. Das haben wir uns bis hierher verdient. Wir wollen Schritt für Schritt ein weiteres Zeichen setzen.“

Das erste Zeichen gelang bereits am Mittwoch: Beim Pokalsieger THW Kiel gewann der Tabellenführer 36:34. Ob heute zu Hause gegen Verfolger Hannover-Burgdorf (live ab 15 Uhr bei WELT TV und SPORTBILD.DE) ein großer Schritt in Richtung Meisterschaft gemacht werden kann?
Kretzschmar: „Wir haben schon noch ein heftiges Programm vor uns. Wir wollen nicht im April darüber reden, was vielleicht passieren kann. Das haben wir vorher nicht gemacht, und das machen wir auch jetzt nicht.“
„Kretzsche“ hat die Rechnung allerdings ohne seinen eigenen Boss gemacht.
Geschäftsführer Bob Hanning (57) verkündete am Dienstag glasklar: „Wir gewinnen die Champions League, da glaube ich wirklich fest dran!“ Damit nicht genug – sogar ans Double glaubt er: „Wenn wir Kiel und Hannover schlagen, sage ich Ja. Dann holen wir die Doppelmeisterschaft.“

Kretzschmar flüchtet sich angesichts der flotten Ansagen des Chefs in Humor: „Als mein Geschäftsführer vom Gewinn der Champions League sprach, meinte er wohl die Jugend-Champions-League, bei der die Füchse auch mitspielen.“
Kretzschmar ist überzeugt, dass der SC Magdeburg in der Bundesliga bis zum Saisonende kein Spiel mehr verlieren wird: „Da dürfen wir uns kaum noch etwas erlauben.“
Das Schöne: Sollten die kühnen Hanning-Prognosen dennoch eintreten, wird Kretzschmar seinem Boss kaum böse sein …
