Felipe Melo surpreendeu ao fazer muitos elogios a Abel Ferreira, do Palmeiras, pela forma como o técnico “blindou” o elenco alviverde das críticas externas no começo de 2025 e conseguiu remontar o time alviverde, atual líder do Brasileirão após cinco rodadas.
Em participação no programa Fechamento SporTV, o comentarista esportivo apontou como sábia a decisão do treinador português de rebater as críticas e de mudar a forma como se deveria olhar para a derrota na final do Campeonato Paulista contra o arquirrival Corinthians.
“O Abel não deixou essa pressão externa entrar no clube. Sabe como é o torcedor do Palmeiras… Perdeu o título paulista para o maior rival… Em um entrevista ele falou que preferia ver com outros olhos (a perda da final do Paulistão)”, disse Felipe Melo, lembrando que Abel Ferreira questionou que apesar da reformulação no elenco, o time havia se classificado mais uma vez para a decisão do torneio.
“Ele chama a responsabilidade para si, não deixa essa pressão externa chegar no grupo, para dentro do vestiário, e agora está colhendo os frutos. É um treinador muito sábio”, concluiu o ex-jogador.
Vale salientar que Felipe Melo foi dirigido por Abel Ferreira no Palmeiras entre 2020 e 2021.

Com a vitória diante do Fortaleza, por 2 a 1, na Arena Castelão, no último domingo, o Verdão chegou a seis triunfos consecutivos na temporada e assumiu a liderança isolada do Brasileirão, com 13 pontos., dois a mais que o Flamengo, segundo colocado.
Abel destacou a dificuldade de bater o time cearense em seus domínios e elogiou a união dos jogadores do Verdão.
“Fica uma vitória dura, difícil, que já previa, como são todas aqui, e o Fortaleza perde depois de 23 jogos, o que mostra o quão difícil é jogar aqui. Gosto mais de ressaltar a atitude da equipe. Uns correm pelos outros. Bom ver quando o treinador troca, eles entram com vontade e atitude”, disse o treinador português.

Agora o time alviverde volta suas atenções novamente para a disputa da Copa Libertadores.
