John Cena has revealed that his recent hair transplant was influenced by relentless teasing from WWE fans.
Fresh off his historic victory over Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41, the 17-time champion discussed the procedure on The Pat McAfee Show, admitting that he had the transplant done in November after months of fan comments about his thinning hair.
Cena, always known for his tough persona, shared how the constant attention on his bald spot – including memes, chants, and signs from fans – affected him more than he let on.
“Thank you for being so aware of my needs and emotions,” Cena joked.
“You guys ripped me to shreds for a genetic problem that I can’t control.”
Cena feels targeted for something he can’t control
He went on to explain how the mocking became particularly tough during high-profile events, such as the Royal Rumble, where chants and taunts about his bald spot were rampant.
“Yo, that’s not fair. I can’t control that. It happens to seven out of ten dudes,” Cena remarked, addressing the fact that hair loss is a common issue.
While Cena admitted that the hair transplant process involves some discomfort – with the old hair falling out before the new growth starts – he expressed his frustration with the public ridicule.
“One of you sons of bitches could’ve pulled me to the side,” he said, noting that the personal nature of the issue was overshadowed by public embarrassment.
The WWE star also referred to the fan criticism as “straight-up bullying” and sarcastically thanked them for pushing him into the decision.
“Thank you for bullying me into getting surgical hair replacement. I appreciate that,” he added with a grin.
As Cena embraces this new phase with his fresh look, it seems his transformation is not just about winning championships but also about tackling the pressure from his fans – who, unknowingly, played a role in his decision to undergo the procedure.

Browns draft Quinshon Judkins: Fantasy Football outlook for 2025, impact on Jerome Ford, and more
Jamie Schwaberow / Getty Images Quinshon Judkins was the first running back drafted on Day 2, going before teammate TreVeyon Henderson, who many viewed as a potential Round 1 pick. Judkins' new team is a mixed bag of a landing spot. It sure looks like Joe Flacco will be their starting quarterback and the offensive line is average at best. On the positive side, Judkins should be able to earn the lion's share of early down snaps in training camp. How you feel about Judkins as a running back prospect likely depends on whether you are a film guy or a stat guy. The advanced stats and the more traditional stats paint a less-than-exciting picture, though he did rush for 3,785 yards and 45 touchdowns in three college seasons. We had a great debate about Judkins on Fantasy Football Today Dynasty […]
