Although many analysts believe the Dallas Cowboys will choose Matthew Golden to be CeeDee Lamb‘s partner, the name of another wide receiver has appeared on the horizon.
Jon Machota, a reporter for The New York Times who covers the team, predicted that Jerry Jones will choose Tetairoa McMillan with the 12th overall pick in the draft.

“Dallas would be thrilled with this pick. McMillan gives the Cowboys a sure-handed No. 2 wide receiver to pair with CeeDee Lamb. He would be an immediate impact player, especially in the red zone. At 6-foot-4 and 214 pounds, McMillan is excellent at using his size and athleticism to his advantage,” the reporter wrote in his mock draft published Sunday.
“In other situations, he might be asked to immediately become the team’s number one receiver. In Dallas, he could gradually integrate into the offense, knowing that most of the defensive attention is focused on Lamb,” Machota added of the Arizona Wildcats player’s possible arrival in Dallas.
Sportskeeda points out how McMillan’s build could help Jerry Jones’ team, as his 6-foot-4 frame could give the team the red zone ability it currently lacks.
Joshua Sanchez of Sports Illustrated had already opted for McMillan for the Cowboys a few days ago.
“The Cowboys seem to be focused on adding a key player on offense… bringing in the huge 6-foot-4 McMillan would not only open up the passing offense and provide a powerful threat in the red zone.
And while Golden’s speed impressed at the NFL Combine, running the 40 yards in 4.29 seconds, will the Cowboys choose McMillan’s size and red zone presence? In a few days we will find out.
