Füchse-Trainer Jaron Siewert (31) bremst die Titel-Euphorie – und träumt trotzdem!
Am Donnerstag kommt Aalborg (20.45 Uhr/Dyn) in die Max-Schmeling-Halle. Champions-League-Viertelfinale – nur zwei Spiele trennen die Berliner noch vom Final Four in Köln.
Füchse-Boss Bob Hanning (57) hatte vergangene Woche erstmals das Wort Champions-League-Titel in den Mund genommen. Jetzt kontert sein Coach bei SPORT BILD: „Hohe Ziele sind ja immer gut. Ich finde es ein bisschen vermessen, von Titeln zu sprechen, wenn man den selbst noch nie errungen hat. Aber träumen darf man. Dieser Traum ist sicherlich nicht nur bei Bob Hanning vorhanden, sondern bei unserer kompletten Fanschaft, bei unseren Sponsoren. Für uns heißt es, diese Träume in die Realität umzusetzen.“
[–>Und dafür braucht’s jetzt zwei Topleistungen gegen das dänische Topteam! „Mit Aalborg wartet eine europäische Spitzenmannschaft auf uns. Sie haben unter der Saison noch mal mit Sagosen einen Weltklasse-Spieler nachverpflichtet. Das unterstreicht die finanzielle Potenz, aber auch die Ambitionen. Die Champions League ist nicht mal die Kür, sondern irgendwie das ambitionierte Ziel“, sagt Siewert.
Der Gegner stellt für den Füchse-Trainer die bislang größte Herausforderung in dieser Saison dar: „Die Umstände machen sie zum schwersten Gegner. Es ist ein K.-o.-Spiel. Es geht um alles.“

Was würde der Einzug ins Final Four für die Füchse bedeuten? „Das wäre eine Riesen-Errungenschaft, aber am Ende will man ja auch irgendwas in der Hand halten. Letztes Jahr waren wir in zwei Final Fours und sind Zweiter geworden und haben gegen Magdeburg beim Super Globe den zweiten Platz geholt“, erzählt Siewert und ergänzt: „Wir wissen, wie sich eine Saison anfühlt, die erfolgreich war, aber wo man nichts in den Händen hält, und wir werden alles daransetzen, dieses Jahr hoffentlich irgendwas in die Höhe strecken zu können.“
Die Berliner sind bereit für das große Duell! Und können eventuell auch wieder auf Rückraum-Star Fabian Wiede (31) setzen. Siewert: „Bei Fabi ist es eine Tag-für-Tag-Entscheidung. Die Fortschritte sind gut.“
